Tsubaki' point of view:
Kousei and I were best friends for a long time. It started when we lived next door to each other. Kousei was a short boy, who was gentle, had blue eyes and glasses, short black hair, an abusive mother, and a passion for music. He used to be a happy child, playing the piano with his heart, making the notes feel like a conversation on the phone. He was perfect, until his mom died. After that I never knew if he would be the same. His eyes turned dark and he grew depressed and parted from the piano for 2 years. But that all changed once he met Kaori. Kaori was a beautiful girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She played the violin and she had a bright, positive soul. I guess none of us knew what she had gone through or who she really was.. Little did me, Kousei, nor Watari know that she was always there watching us, but we never noticed. We were a flat pancake, never to be separated, but i was so in love with Kousei that I never even noticed her existence, nor did I know that she would be knife that separated me and Kousei. But I became friends with her and so did all of us, never knowing anything, until I noticed Kousei had taken a liking to her. I started hating her, but little did I know she was slowly dying. She got ill, and I felt a knife in my heart when I actually felt a little happy. All the happiness went away when she passed away, leaving Kousei a mess, just like his mother did. Kousei may never be the same..

I creeped up behind Kousei and kicked him.
"Hey what was that about?!" He asked rubbing his foot.
"Where were you this morning?" I asked sternly.
"I came to school early to practice." He said. I sat down next to him and opened my lunch bag. I had a chicken sandwich with lettuce and pickles. I looked at him and then his meal, and I realized he was eating canelés. I immediately snapped.
"You dummy! Are you trying to be depressed?!" I yelled. I grabbed his canelés and gobbled them up.
"Hey! That's my lunch!" He said with his mouth wide open.
"If you ever want to get over her you have to stop doing everything that reminds you of her!" I said.
"What if I don't want to forget her?" He said. I was about to say something until he said that. I was speechless.
     "Uh.."
"Hey guys." Watari said sitting next to Kousei from the other side. "Lifesaver." I thought.
"Hey." Kousei said. Watari looked at Kousei and then me and smirked. "Ugh don't make it obvious Watari!" I thought in my head.
"Hey Tsubaki do you wanna practice baseball?" Watari asked. "Do you want to drive a wedge between me and Kousei?" I thought.
"Uh yeah just give me a second to finish up." I said eating the rest of my sandwich.
"Okay meet you on the field." He said walking away. Finally he was gone, that little tattle child.
"So how've you been? With all the .. You know.." I asked. He barely lifted his head.
"What do you think?" He asked. "I'm a mess." I imagined him as a kid again, after his mom died, crying, and always keeping his head down, like he was protecting himself from anything that could hurt him more than he was already. "I have no one now." He said. "Ugh I feel friend zoned." I thought.
"You have me.." I said. My voice was sad and gentle, it's almost never that way.
"But it's different, your only a friend." He said. Before he could finish his sentence I was already out the door.
