Edd's POV
Do you ever get that feeling in your stomach where you know that everything is going to be alright but your stomach decides to play games with you?
No?
Yes?
Either way, that's what I'm going through right now.I'm a few minutes away from marrying the man of my dreams, but my stomach is doing splits.
I take a deep breathe reminding myself to breathe.
Knock. Knock.
"Come in," I call.
The door opens revealing my handsome soon to be husband.
"Hey Mr. I'm looking for my husband, I was wondering if you saw him?"
I chuckle, getting up and hugging him.
He chuckles in return and hugs me as well.
"Technically this is supposed to be bad luck," I whisper into his ear.
"Technically that superstition is between a straight couple," Kevin whispers back sassily.
I laugh quietly as we continue our long embrace. He puts his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him, and rests his head on my shoulder.
"Can I already say 'I do' so we can just cuddle for the rest of today?" I ask breaking our silence.
He laughs and I feel it sending vibrations through my body making me blush.
"I guess if I get out there, we'd be closer to getting hitched," he says then winking at me.
"Yeah," I reply quietly.
He smiles at me, "see you soon, dork."
When the oak doors are pushed open and all the crowd that came here today to see us watch me walk down the isle arms linked with my parents on both sides of me, all I can focus on is him.
He stands at the end of the isle, eyes shinning brightly.
His smile huge.
He is handsome. Is his heart beating as fast as mine right now?
Is he close to tears like I am right now?
Is he ready to just say 'I do' and kiss me already?I couldn't help but feel eager, even though he was only a few feet away now I just wanted to race to him and tackle him to the ground.
When he extends his hand to take mine I feel like a fangirl about to faint, so I'm surprised when I hold his hand that I didn't topple over.
The man has us repeat after him, but in all honestly the words were all muffled like the sound of waves hitting the beach sand, all I could think about was him.
My husband.
It felt so nice to refer to Kevin as that, it felt right.
"I do."
"Do you, Eddward Pensky, take Kevin Burns as your husband?" He asks me.
"I do," I reply happily.
"I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss the groom."
Kevin and I smile at each other, eyes watering at this emotional moment. His hands gently rest on my cheek, we move in slowly closing our eyes, tilting our heads, and when our lips connect it was different then any other kiss- it was full of emotion (joy, lust, relief, etc). I wrap my hands around his waist and pull him closer.
The crowd erupts into cheers as we race down the isle together holding hands as they throw rice.
What a waste of perfectly good rice, am I right?
At the after party we had our first dance as husband and husband to a thousand years.
Since we both didn't know how to dance we decided to just sway to the music.
As we held each other in one and other's arms, swaying under the bright moonlight, we felt all the words of the song.
Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid
To fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
I have died every day
waiting for you
Darlin' don't be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I'll love you for a
Thousand more"je t'aime," he whispers into my ear.
"je t'aime trop , beau mari," I whisper back.
"What does that mean?" He asks quietly.
"I love you too, handsome husband," I whisper into his ear.
Heat rushes to his cheeks and he pecks my lips one, two, three times.
"Wanna know what's funny?" He whispers long after the song ended and we were still swaying.
"What?"
"As a kid, I would say 'no homo' but now I like to say 'yes homo'."
I laugh at his random comment, "I love your random stories."
"There's many more."
"I've got the time. You're stuck with me."
He laughs, "And you are stuck with me."
