(A/N: I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a long time. I have been really busy lately with school and I even participated in my schools latest theatre show that was being put on. I didn't want to give you guys sucky chapters to read.. even though this chapter isn't the best... The updates will hopefully return to normal soon [ the frequent updates & length of the chapters]. Anyways, I'm very sorry and I hope you enjoy.)
Kevin's POV
I wake up to the sound of my alarm in the morning.
I sigh rolling over to shut it up.
Once that is done I sit up and rub my eyes, I still have jet lag today.
All I want to do is close my eyes, just for a little while longer.
I fight the urge. I have to go to the job interview today.I get out of Rave's guest bed trying not to wake a sleeping Edd.
Walking over to my bag I pull out my nicest outfit I had right now, everything else are in the boxes that should be getting here sometime today.Walking to the bathroom, I look at myself in the mirror. I don't look my best, but honestly that is typically what I think before I get coffee.
I splash some water on my face trying to wake myself up more.
I then proceed to brush my teeth and then style my hair.I look in the mirror when I am done trying to make myself presentable.
I don't look professional.
I won't be the employee they are wanting.
They will think that I am a slacker.I begin to play all the rejection scenarios that came to my mind, trying to prepare for me not getting the job.
A pair of arms snake around my waist.
I look over my shoulder and Edd is hugging me from behind looking adorable since he is still sleepy looking.
"Morning Baby," I whisper.
"Morning Pumpkin," he says back.
I kiss his forehead.
"Kevin?" He asks yawning.
"Yeah Double D?"
"Don't worry about the interview."
I nod, "Alright."
"I love you."
"I love you too, Babe."
He smiles making me smile.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come?" Edd asks when I am about to head off to the interview.
"Thank you Cutie, but I can go by myself."
He nods, "Alright."
"But tonight we will go get our things from the shipping company and then go buy some furniture."
He nods, "Okay."
"I love you," I say before kissing him.
"Love you too," he says before I leave.
As I walked to the store, that was a good two miles from Rave's apartment, I gave myself a pep talk.
"You got this, just breathe," I told myself over and over again.
The confidence I was faking immediately vanished when I walked into the store.
I was/ am so nervous.
"Hi!" A perky guy said greeting me. "How can I help you?"
"I-um, I am here for an interview..?"
"Oh that's great!" He said smiling big. "I will go get Mark for you then."
When he walks to the back of the store to find this Mark guy I am left to just wait.
"You must be Kevin," a low voice, that sounds like he should narrate, says getting my attention.
"Yes, Hello."
He smiles at me, "Would you prefer to go in my office to talk or to talk right here?"
"Either is fine with me," I reply.
He smiles, "Alright well, let's get started, shall we?"
I nod, "Yes of course."
He asks me questions like how hard of a worker am I?, What was my grades like in high school?, What was my previous job like?, and all the other basics.
"Would you like a tour of the shop?" Mark asks me.
"Yes that would be amazing," I say.
He shows me the variety of clothing they have, the outdoorsy things that they have for sale, and so much more.
"And Last but not least, we have our pride section."
"Pride section?" I ask.
"It is for any and all LGBTQ+ member that wants some pride things like for instance a flag, mug, and even a t-shirt."
"This is awesome," I say in awe.
He nods, "Yeah, It is one of our newer sections. Jack and I decided to add it in after he came out a year ago."
"Awe."
"Yeah, He is my Jacky-poo."
I chuckle at the nickname he has for the Irish lad I talked to earlier.
By the time we finish talking it had been two hours.
"Well Kevin, I think that you are a great guy and I would love to have you work here for me."
I smile, "Thank you so much, sir!"
He chuckles, "Just don't call me sir, you can call me Mark or even Marky Mark."
I smile, "Okay sorry, Mark."
He chuckles, "No big deal. Would you want to start work-lets say the day after tomorrow? so you can get settled in."
I nod, "That sounds great to me!"
"Sweet!"
