Chapter 21- Big Baby Steps

I wake up to someone cuddling up to me.
"Babe wake up," Edd whispers in my ear.

"Five more minutes," I mumble, putting my arm around him, bringing him closer to me.

He chuckles, "We are going to miss our plane if you keep this up."

I jolt awake, today I was going back to be moving into an apartment with Edd near his college.

We had decided to live together since in two months we would be together for a year (not counting our break).

I run to the bathroom and brush my teeth. Then I snatch up a new t-shirt to wear, quickly spraying a little axe on.
Finally I pack everything else I hadn't already packed the night before up.

It is really happening.

Today.

Edd and I are moving in together.

I had a job interview for tomorrow already.
Conviently Avery, being the social butterflies she is, knew some people there that were looking for some new employees.

I looked into their little store but there they were anything but little. They were super popular. They sold anything from clothes to accessories.

When I contacted them about perhaps getting an interview they immediately replied saying I should come in two days from then.

"I can't believe you are leaving me," Nat says when we are face to face, Me about to leave our home town for who knows how long.

I frown realizing I might not see my best friend for a long time and I pull him into a hug, "Come visit sometime?"

He nods wiping under his eyes as we pull apart.

"We're you crying?"

"No the Butt King doesn't cry, there was something in my eye."

I smile, "I'm really going to miss you, you dramatic turd."

He smiles pulling me into another hug, "I'm going to miss you."

Nat lets go of me and hugs Edd, "Bye Edd."

"Bye Nat, take care of yourself."

Nat smiles, "Don't I always?"

We all laugh.

"Calling for all Flight 28 passengers," a voice says through the intercom.

Edd and I pick up our carry-ons.
I grab Edd's hand with my free hand.
As we walk away I look over my shoulder to see my teary eyed BestFriend smiling, but as I get farther and farther the crowd makes him disappear from my sight.

"So this is your guys apartment," the landlord says as we approach a door.

I thank her taking the two keys she got us to the apartment.

"Just let me know if you need help with anything dears," she says before turning around and walking the way we had just came.

"Ready to see our new home?" I ask Edd.

He smiles up at me, "Yeah."

This was a big step.
Edd and I living together, but I was ready.

I put the key into the door, twist it open, revealing the apartment.

We walk in, our feet creating echoes on the hard wooden floor.

My eyes inspect the main room of the apartment. It wasn't home, well not yet at least. It seemed bare. The walls were white. There wasn't any furniture. 

I set our two bags down and follow Edd to the bedrooms.

Edd and I decided together that if we moved in together now we still weren't 100% ready to share the same room quite yet.

"This room is huge," Edd says in awe when he sees the master bedroom.

I chuckle, "Yeah and it is your room."

"Wait, that isn't fair to you though Pumpkin."

I shake my head smiling, "No it's fine. You found it first, I will be fine with the room across the hall.

"You sure?"

I nod, "Yeah I am sure."

"So what should we do since we don't have furniture yet?" Edd asks.

"Well tomorrow after my interview we could go get our boxes from the shipping company and then we could go to RC Willy. However I don't know what we should do tonight."

He nods, "I think Rave has a guest room, maybe he will let us stay over tonight."
