Hadley's POV
"Your Honour, my client would like to hear the story from her ex-husband's daughter, Hadley Heathsville." says Misty's lawyer to the judge and he nods.
"Ok. Miss Heathsville. Please come up to the stand." the judge says and I walk up to the stand. A policeman stands in front of me and raises his left hand.
"Do you promise to speak the truth and only the truth?" he asks.
"Yes." I reply and I sit down. Dad's lawyer stands and walks towards the stand where I am sitting. I look at Dad and he smiles.
"Miss Heathsville. Hadley. Which would you prefer me to call you?" Ask Dad's lawyer.
"Uh, Hadley, I guess." I reply and he nods.
"So, can you please explain the schedule of your day while living with the Lovegrove family."
"Well, in the morning, I woke up at 5.30 am. Like the rest of the maids, and I would help the chef, Carlos, prepare breakfast, then get ready for the day. I would then have breakfast then walk to school with my best friend and boyfriend. When I got home from school, I would then do chores until 5.30 pm." I explain.
"And when did you get home?" he asks.
"3.10 pm." I reply and a lot of people gasp. People start talking and the judge orders people to be quiet.
"I only stop doing the chores until I found out about my mother's 'death'." I say.
"Why did you do that?" motioning my quotation marks.
"Because my mother wasn't killed by Douglas. He killed my Aunt. Misty planned the whole thing and my Mom got scared, so her identical sister, Emily, took over and she was killed. My grandparents knew about the whole thing. My Dad was there when my Aunt was killed." I explain.
"A month ago, my Mom heard Misty again down at the mall and she said that she found out about Mom. And then she was going to kill me instead of Mom. When I was in the warehouse 3 weeks ago, Douglas told me the whole story of why Misty wanted my Mom killed. I would tell you myself, but I think he would be perfectly able to tell you himself." I say and the lawyer sits down while Misty's and Douglas's lawyer stands and walks towards me.
"Hello, Hadley. I was just wondering how old are you?" she asks.
"17."
"And when did you first meet Mrs Lovegrove?"
"When I was 9. When my Aunt died and my Mom disappeared, my Dad and I lived with my Grandparents for 3 years until Dad got in touch with Misty and they got married."
"And you were doing chores from the first day you were living at the Lovegrove's place?"
"Yes. She has hated me ever since we met." She walks around the space and glances at Misty before looking back at me.
"Hadley, what was the relationship between your friends and your parents?"
"My Dad loved Alec and Lilly, but Misty hated them."
"Why?"
"Because she thought that my friends were a waste of time."
"But you are still your friends."
