Chapter 24 - End of the year and a pool party to remember.

Now, I know a few chapters ago, that this chapter would have 30 chapters, but I sort of forgot and thought it would be good to finish this book now, since all the action is finished. So, I'm sorry, and I hope you like it. I am writing my second book as we speak, I will put a post up on Wattpad when i have published it. Hadley's POV

So, here we are. The end of the year, and I am so excited for Senior year. I won't be in danger, I'll be with my friends, well, except Mikayla. She is leaving for New York today, and Alec, Lilly and I (alomg with my parents) are going to the airport to say goodbye to Mikayla. And Hayden.
We arrive at LAX and Mikayla and her family are waiting at their gate.
"Good afternoon, everyone. Just a reminder that the 2.30 pm flight to New York is boarding in 15 minutes. That's a reminder to passengers departing to New York. Your flight is boarding in 15 minutes precisely." Says a voice.
"Well, almost time for us to go. Aww. I am going to miss you so much." Says Mikayla and we hug.
"Me too. Don't forget to call when you land. I don't really like planes. Ever since the Malaysian flights crashed-"I say but Mikayla interrupts.
"Whoa. It's ok. We are not living in Malaysia. We'll be fine."
"Promise?" I ask.
"Promise. Now, come here and give me a hug." She says and we hug again. She then hugs Alec, Lilly and my parents. Ending with my father.
"Thank you. For looking after us all these years." She says and my dad kisses her on the forehead.
"No problem. Now, be good to your dad and don't do anything your mother would do." Orders my dad and he chuckles and she giggles.
"I promise." And they hug.
Their flight starts to board and they all wave to us. We stay where we are until we can't see them anymore. I start to cry and Alec hugs me. I'm going to miss her so much...

(The next day. The last day of the year!! Yay!!)

"And to conclude today's lesson. I just want to let you guys know that next year will be tough. You'll have to do your absolute best. And make sure that-" Says Mrs Birmingham before the bell rings and papers go everywhere. Yeah, sorry miss. We didn't want to hear your lecture. We know what we are doing. Everyone leaves the room and Mrs Birmingham just gives up and leaves. The only people in the Geography room, are Lilly, Joey, Alec and me.
"So, what are you doing this Summer, bro?" Asks Joey to Alec.
"Oh you know. Hanging with friends, spending the whole time with my favourite person in the world." He says and I hug him.
"Aww, thanks babe."
"Miss Honeywell!!" And I look at him and punch his arm.
"Just kidding. Ow. What did that bullet do to you? Turn you into Hulk or something."
"Yes. Doctor turn Hadley into to Hulk." I say sarcastically, in a Hulk voice. We all laugh and head to the front of the school where students are trying to head home. To the side, I see Poppy, Kylie and Melanie.
"Hey girls, how are you?" I ask.
"We're all fine. Ready for Summer?" Asks Kylie.
"Yep. Can not wait to get some Vitamin D in me." I say.
"Hey, I'm having at party next Saturday. You guys wanna come?" Ask Melanie. We all look at each other and shrug.
"Sure. Just as long you don't hook up with Alec again." I say and she chuckles.
"Don't worry. I've got my own man to do that with" she says and waves to Harry Nicklaus. The basketball jock who stepped on Freddie Green's glasses.
"Cool." Says Lilly and look at Harry as he waves back at Melanie.
"So, you'll come?" Asks Melanie, looking back at us.
"Sure." I say.
"Fantastic, it's pool party themed. My daddy just installed a pool in our backyard." She explains and we all nod.
"OK. We'll be there." Says Alec.
"Fabulous. Be there a 3.00 pm." She says and we say our goodbyes. We all head to my car and get in. Me driving, Alec in the passenger seat, Lilly and Joey in the back.
"So, I have a question." Says Lilly.
"Shoot." I say and reverse out of the car park.
"Why do you guys glow everyday since Hadley told us she was leaving?" She asks and I stop just as the school bus was going to leave. Alec and I look back at Lilly and she shrugs.
"What? I was just wondering." She says and I turn around to continue driving. I look at Alec and he looks back at me.
"You wanna tell her?" He asks.
"Um, I'm the one driving here." I say.
"OK. Well, just before I tell you, you need to promise us not to get mad. Ok?"
"Depends on what it is." Says Lilly and I roll my eyes. We head down a busy street and turn right so we head down my long street.
"OK. *Gulp* Well, a few weeks ago. Hadley and I... You know." He starts and Lilly squeals. I brake just outside my house to make my Dad run outside.
"You WHAT?!?!" She says and I catch my breath. Dad comes to my window and I roll it down. While Lilly lectures Alec about the situation, I talk to Dad.
"You Ok?" He asks. I nod.
"Yeah. Thank goodness my brakes still work after Mom drove it last time." I say and he nods. He pats the roof of my car and walks back to the house. I reverse back so I can drive into the garage. I stop the car, turn it off and turn around.
"OK, Lilly. We get it. It was a bad thing to do. Get over it." I say and get out of the car. I walk inside and put my bag on the bag hook.
"Hey!! There are my favorite students. Who wants my all time favorite root-beer float?" Says Katie and we all grab one.
"Well, I'll take that as a yes." She says amd walks back to kitchen. My Mom and Dad walk in from the study room with big smile on their faces.
"Uh oh. What's wrong? I don't like those smiles..." I say. Then they take my hand and pull me to a room. A room with the most amazing and beautiful piano I have ever seen.
"What's this for?" I ask.
"Your bravery. What you did in that warehouse proved us that you are not afraid of anything that is thrown at you. So, your mother and I thought we'd give you something for your reward." My Dad explains and I walk over to the magnificent instrument. I sit down on the stool and run my fingers over the keys.
"Why don't you play something?"asks Alec, who walked into the room after me. I nod and think of a song. (A/N: Play the song)
When I finished playing my song, my parents, Alec, Lilly and Joey applauded me.
"That was. Amazing, babe." Alec says amd kisses me on the head.
"Thanks. Just popped it out of my head." I say and blush. My parents told us that they were going out for dinner, so we could either stay here and have a sleepover, or drop my friends off and do whatever. My friends and I decided to have a sleepover, so my parents left for their dinner and we had the most fun ever. Again...

(Saturday)

"My god, I have nothing to wear!"
"Lillipop, you're starting to act like Mikayla."
"Here, wear this."
"You look beautiful, Hadness."

Crazy day. Today we are going to Melanie's house. For her end of year pool party. And I swear Lilly has been talking to Mikayla cause she is acting like her. And it is starting to get a little annoying.

"Hadley, can I see what you are wearing?" Lilly asks and I sigh.
"Fine." I reply and step out of my closet. I am wearing a blue bikini with white flip flops. I died my hair beachy blonde and cut it so it is just up to my shoulders. Thought I might need a 'new do for the new you'. According to my parents. I pull a white tank top over me and pull on some denim shorts.
"Ok, you have anything for me?" Lilly asks and I hand her a floral bikini with black floral flip flops. She changes in the bathroom and comes out with her hair, with some highlights, down. She puts a crop top on with some cotton shorts. While Lilly and I add a bit of waterproof mascara and some lipgloss, Alec and Joey change into their swimsuits. Both in black boardies. I check the time on my phone, and it says that its 2.45 pm. We head to my car and drive off to Melanie's place.

(30 minutes later)
"OMG, Hadley. You look tots cute!" Kylie says.
"Oh thanks, Kylie. You look cute too." I reply and hug her.
"I know. Look at Cameron Billing. Doesn't he look hot, over there?" She says, pointing at the sandy blonde guy standing over at the dj stand.
"Uh, yeah. I guess. Hey, why don't you talk to him. Who knows, you might have your next boyfriend." I say and encourage her to go over to him. She gives in and heads over to him. I look at them and they start to make really good conversation. I smile and head over to Alec, who is dancing with Lilly.
"Hadley!" I turn around and see Ryan.
"Oh, hey. What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Melanie invited me. Have you talked to Mikayla lately?" He asks.
"No. She might be busy unpacking and settling in. But I will let you know when I do talk to her." I reassure him and he nods.
"Want some punch?" He asks and I shake my head.
"No, thanks. I'm fine. How are you by the way?" I ask, changing the subject.
"Alright. I passed my exams. So I will be going into senior year." He says.
"Congrats." I say and give him a friendly hug.
"Thanks. I better go and talk to Poppy. She is my new tutor." He says.
"Oh. Ok. I'll see you around." I say and he nods and walks away. I turn around to face my friends but they aren't there. I look around but can't see them. Just then, I am being picked up off the ground and carried to the pool. I squeal when I get thrown into the pool and swim to the surface. I look at my friends who are laughing their heads off and glare at them.
"Ha ha. Very funny. Come on, help me out." I say and raise my hand to Alec. He grabs my hand and starts to pull me out, but I pull him in and laugh. He grabs me by the waist and pulls me to him.
"You evil little girl." He says in my ear.
"Don't judge a book by its cover." I reply and turn around to face him. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him to kiss.

I can not wait for senior year. Who knows, maybe I will bump into some new people. Put my life on the line. Get a contract from a famous record company. Who knows what I will get in the future.

This is my life.

And it's my problem.
