I don't know what I had been thinking that day that I forced him up on the roof with me, but I was glad I had. For the past few days, Yuuichi had been joining me up here. Of course, he was always polite about it and asked if he could. I always let him, of course, but I still appreciated that he would ask. He respected my space.

Today was a little bit different from usual routine though. Today, Yuuichi wasn't going to be splitting off on the way to his house. This time, he was coming to mine. I had to admit that it felt kind of weird knowing that there was going to be someone at my house again after so long. When I had asked my Mom though, she was more than excited. She had even gone out and bought drinks and snack for us to eat.

I think she was just glad to finally see a little bit of a change. To be honest it was nice to finally have some change. I had noticed, too, that ever since I had started letting Yuuichi sit with me up on the roof, it wasn't so hard to be up there. As we walked down the sidewalk, Yuuichi began to ask me questions about my house, even though he had been in it once before. It made me want to laugh.

"So, will your Mom be there?" He asked, switching subjects from the house. I shrugged.

"It depends on how long it takes for her to finish her sessions." I said.

"Sessions?" He looked confused. I realized that he had no idea what my Mom did for work.

"Yeah. She's a therapist." I explained. He nodded as he put the pieces together.

"I see...is she a therapist for only a certain group of people or...?" He asked.

"No, she does therapy for all sort of people and all sorts of ages." I told him.

"That's kind of cool...it explains why your house had such a calm atmosphere." He said.

"Yeah...she designed the house that way because once in a while her patients come to our house for their sessions. AN office isn't always the most comfortable place to talk, especially for little kids." I said. He agreed. There was a moment of silence as we approached my street. When my house came into view, Yuuichi lit up a little bit.

"So, what do we exactly have planned for the day?" He asked me. I looked straight ahead, thinking. I honestly had no clue. I had the same problem when Kida came over...there wasn't really much for us to do while we were there...except play board games. Of course, when I thought of it, it came out unintentionally.

"I have board games...and cards." I suggested.

"Alright. We'll have to see what you've got. I haven't played any board games in a while, so that'll be kind of fun." He smiled at me as we walked down the driveway. It distracted me from that feeling I usually got when crossing the gravel. That was another thing I had noticed as well, though...Yuuichi's smile was a lot easier to look at. Often times I couldn't keep from looking at it.

I opened the door and called out to my Mom, but received no answer. She wasn't home yet. That was kind of a relief. I knew that if she had been home she would be all over Yuuichi, asking him questions and offering him food and stuff. I set my back pack on the counter and opened the fridge for some water. I pulled out two and handed one to Yuuichi. He thanked me and then opened it. We both just stood there drinking water.

Now that we were actually in my house, it was a little awkward. He didn't really have a reason to be here...he just kinda was. I screwed the cap back on my water and looked at him. He was doing the same. Suddenly, he looked up and met my eyes.

"Oh" He started. "Elisa told me to tell you that you should plug your phone in."

"Alright." I sighed and grabbed my things off of the counter. I had forgotten to do that all week, which is probably why scheduling this day was a little more difficult than it should have been. If I had just charged my phone, I could have just texted him instead of waiting until he next day at school to exchange info. I wondered why he had never asked why I hadn't messaged him.

It suddenly occurred to me that I didn't have his number. Well...it wasn't exactly surprising, considering the fact that we hadn't known each other for that long. I guess I could always ask him for it when I got it plugged in. When we got into my room, I tossed my back pack onto the floor next to my desk, and then plugged my phone in. Yuuichi set his things down next to mine. After looking around for a minute, he looked at me and said,

"How about those board games?" With a smile. I walked over to my closet and swung it open, then moved some things out of the way so that we could see them better. Yuuichi's eyes sparkled as he examined them, clearly excited to play one. He looked around for a minute, and I just stepped back and let him choose.

After a few more moments passed, he turned around with a game in his hands. It was Life.
