I’ll Protect You (Louis)

“Wow, I’m exhausted,” Louis yawned as he entered his bedroom.

“Aw, how was it babe?” Dylan asked as she looked up from the book she was reading to watch her boyfriend. “Hit all the right notes with the most gorgeous voice in the universe?”

He sat down on the ottoman in front of the huge king sized bed he shared with his wonderful girlfriend and proceeded to remove his shoes. “Yup, and we started working on a new song.”

Dylan placed her book on the bedside tables and slowly crawled across her bed. She wrapped her arms around her boyfriend’s bent back and they met at his chest. She pressed her lips to his neck, leaving soft, feather light kisses until she nibbled at his earlobe.

Louis chuckled and let out a satisfied sigh. He put his hands on her arms, “And this is why I drove like a madman to get home, love.”

Dylan smiled to herself and tightened her hold on him. He turned around and kissed her lips as if he was somehow letting himself loose with that action. He kissed her eagerly, he had waited too long and thinking about Dylan all day in the studio had driven him crazy. Dylan wrapped her legs around his torso from behind kissed him back. She had been waiting for him very patiently, she wasn’t about to now. Louis stood up and pulled her hands tighter around his neck. Dylan laughed at the sudden movement but buried her head in his neck, enjoying his touch as she did so. Louis carried her back to the bed and sat her down gently with his hands underneath her head. He then climbed on top her and attacked her in another passionate kiss.

“I thought you were exhausted,” she mumbled between breaths as she held his head while he sucked on the skin of her neck.

“Not tired anymore,” he mumbled, making her giggle. She wrapped his legs tightly around him and pulled, making him fall on top of her.

Things were starting to get heated when Louis’ hands were under her shirt inching towards her chest, itching to take her shirt off when she heard an unusual noise. It was loud and sounded like a bang followed by something breaking.

Dylan sat up straight and her eyes widened. “Lou, did you hear something?”

“Mhmm,” he answered, his head still buried in her neck. “I heard you moaning my name.”

Suddenly there was another loud bang, quite similar to the one they had heard before. Dylan, startled as she was, flinched and shoved Lou. “If this is some sort of prank Lou, it isn’t funny,” she told him softly but firmly.

Louis pulled away, sighed after looking at her worried face and tried to listen closely for any uncharacteristic sound or movement while Dylan bit her lip and waited. A few moments later he turned back.

“Dyl, I can’t hear a thing. Are you hearing things?” he asked her seriously.

Just then the sound was heard for a third time and this time Louis heard it too. He turned towards the door in a second and held Dylan’s hand protectively.

“Still think I’m hearing this, smartarse?” she asked him with a slight smirk on her face for a second after she saw Louis freak out.

“What was that?” he asked her, completely ignoring her previous question. He stood up from the bed went to the bedroom door and pressed his ear against it.

“I don’t know Lou, did you lock the door after you came into the house?”

“Of course I did! Wait right here, I’m going to go check,” he said.

“No bloody way,” she argued shaking her head, “if you’re going out, I’m coming with you. I don’t want to be alone.”

“Brilliant,” he told her, pulling her nose, “nice to know you don’t want me to go out there alone because you don’t want the ghost to eat me.”

“Oh, shush it you. Need I remind you of the time you used me as a human shield against a bloody moth?”

“I did not push you…besides…moths are scary!” He cried, shivering at the memory.

“And you’re a pussy!” She told him. Louis smirked openly, “Oh for the love of god, Lou. Now is not the time!”

As if emphasising her point, right on cue, they heard the noise again, this time louder and for a longer time.

“Okay, pass me the lamp from there,” he told her softly.

Dylan frowned at his demand, “I knew it, you never liked that lamp! Well too fucking bad -”

“Oh Dyl, just keep quiet for some time and follow me.” He started walking ignorant to the scowl she gave him. Nevertheless, she followed him when he turned, “and please, try not to talk.” Before Dylan could protest and say she never talked a lot, Louis pressed a finger to his lips and gestured for her to follow him.

They quietly tiptoed out of their bedroom and walked carefully across the corridor.

“Louis, in case we die, I just want to say, it was me who hid your favourite shirt and I was the one who ate all the cookies,” she gulped nervously and blushed.

“What?! You told me it was Harry!”

“I’m sorry,” she admitted, “and I love you?”

“Just because we might die right now,” he told her, looking into her big green eyes with his own, “I love you too. And I’ll protect you from the creep, okay love?”

He pecked her lips and held her hand tight. After giving her a shaky smile he slowly treaded further, his eyes on a look out for what he was sure was a thief or a monster of some sort. He turned to make sure Dylan was right behind him. He gulped and kept walking, looking from left to right ever so often.

They entered the living room together and with shaking fingers, Louis switched on the lights.

“AAAAAAA!” a long, ear piercing scream was heard which resulted in Louis screaming and hugging Dylan in panic.

Finally, Louis opened one eye to see the face of the person who was going to kill him. It looked surprisingly like a certain Irish friend he had. He had an umbrella in his hand and he seemed to be holding one of his shoes in his hands. All over the floor there were muddy footprints.

“Niall! What the fuck are you doing? Why didn’t you ring the bloody doorbell?” Louis shouted.

“I – had a key – thought it was my house – too many drinks – passed out – sorry!” he slurred and fell back on the couch, making another loud noise because he missed and fell on the floor.

“Oh Nialler,” Dylan sighed, “I’ll go make him a cuppa,” she told Louis who was laying him down in a comfortable position with a smirk.

Louis nodded. He watched Niall’s face as he snored softly with an angelic smile on his face. He smiled. His first night of reaching home at a decent hour to spend time with his girlfriend and this happens. He ruffled Niall’s hair and stood up.

“So,” Dylan smirked, making Louis turn his attention towards her while she crossed her arms over her chest, “I wonder what Niall’s going to say when I tell him his best friend shouts like a girl when he’s scared.”

“You wouldn’t,” he hissed, standing up at the thought of the horror if the rest of the lads knew about this.

“Fine, I won’t…” she shrugged and turned around to start walking towards their bedroom, “…if by some stroke of magic I have breakfast in bed waiting for me when I wake up.”

“Dyl!” Louis whined, watching his girlfriend sashaying away from him, swinging her hips because she knew she was going to get what she wanted while he was left shaking his head at her.
