Chapter 2

I found myself twirling a piece of spaghetti round and round on my fork whilst everybody else enjoyed the evening. I made up an excuse to leave the table and headed to the ladies bathroom.
I sat in the stall on the far end of the room and practiced my breathing. I started to get quite panicked and very hot. There was too many people out there and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I was starting to have an anxiety attack. I felt hot tears roll down my powdered cheeks. I promised myself I wouldn't do this again. I thought to myself - you are fierce, you are brave and you are  confident. I splashed my face with cold water and walked out of the wash room checking my phone. I wasn't paying attention so really it was my fault.

This random guy bumped into me and we both dropped our phones. I grabbed mine and he grabbed his. I got up from the cold tiled floor and looked up see this dark haired boy with mysterious brown eyes.
"I'm so sorry." I croaked, avoiding his angry glare.
"What the heck? Watch out flowers. Maybe next time instead of checking texts from random fuck boys, look where you are going." He replied harshly.
I continued to my seat and Sydney gave me a quizzical look. I just rolled my eyes and she understood instantly.
"So how was the lavatory?" Noah asked.
"Um.... Nice?" I said.
"Well that's good isn't it." He added.
"Shut up Noah! You're annoying and stupid just shut up because your pointless drivel is driving all of us insane!" Is what I wanted to say but instead I said "Yeah, really good" then looked back down at my plate. I looked over my shoulder and saw brown eyes sitting back at his table. He was quite cute. He was obviously popular, his group of friends was enough to tell me this.
"So dessert anyone?" My mum said.
"I kinda just want to go home." I said shyly.
"Me too." Sydney agreed.
"Well I guess no dessert today."
We got the cheque and headed out; brown eyes gazed at me romantically which was almost unsettling.
"What was his problem?" Noah asked.
"Uh I'm no-"
"Do you mind Noah if Aspen and I have a moment?" Sydney asked, cutting me off.
"No, not at all. Go ahead."
"Thank you sweetie." Noah walked ahead to my mum and step dad.
"Thank you." I said.
"Why do you stay with him? It is obvious that you don't like him and there is no connection." Sydney pointed out.
"Because he loves me and nobody else will" I admitted.
"I love you! Plenty of people do, mystery boy probably does."
"Mystery boy shouted at me and basically called me a slag." I said.
"Whatever, but don't stick with a goof like him when your soul mate is still out there."
"Well I'm happy like this."
"Obviously not Pen." Sydney added before walking off.

I lied in bed and stared at the plain white ceiling thinking about my life choices; processing what Sydney said.  I turned to my side and grabbed my phone. I went to unlock it when I realised it wasn't even my phone; brown eyes and I must have switched phones by accident.
