Yoko’s POV
~11 YEARS TIME SKIP~
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL DARLING GIRL!!” shouted grandpa as I ran up to him like a 5 year old child wanting a hug.
“Thank you grandpa!! You always overdo it though!!” I say as I lay my eyes on the extravagant tea party that was behind him.
However, this wasn’t a normal tea party. When people say tea party, they imagine, a rose garden filled with vibrant red roses, a table draped with a white cloth. A single brilliant red rose placed in the middle with beautifully designed tea cups placed on the table. A lone girl with blonde wavy hair wearing a frilly and long dress drinking tea while reading a book. That was what I imagined a tea party to be like though but…
“You always said that you liked this scene best out of Alice in Wonderland didn’t you?” chuckled grandpa.
This tea party was exactly how I imagined for it to be. However, I didn’t think that the tea could stay in cups that were cut in half and that the sugar jar and spoon had little wings and could fly over to scoop sugar into our cups. I certainly didn’t imagine that someone other than grandpa would join me for my 29th birthday too.
“A VERY UNMERRY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CHIYOKO!!” shouted a rabbit who was sitting on the very end of the table.
“MERRY BIRTHDAY!!” shouted a man with a lopsided hat who was also sitting at the end of the table.
“THE RABBIT AND THE MAD HATTER!! OH THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH GRANDPA!!” I shouted as I hugged him tightly.
He patted my head as we went over to sit down. As I walked closer, I could now examine their faces much closer. The rabbit had a stitch over his left eye and a very large stitch on his stomach. He had a button for one eye and goofy teeth which I found quite funny.
The mad hatter was what I dreamed he would be, it was as though he was pulled straight out from the book and placed before me. He had the face of an old man, yet he wore vibrant colours that stood out. I smiled.
“What are your names?” I asked as I sat down.
“Anything you would wish for Mistress!!” the Mad Hatter exclaimed.
“For today is your birthday Miss!!” said the rabbit.
“AND WE’RE HERE TO MAKE YOUR WISH COME TRUE~” they chimed together as they sat back down, making me giggle.
“Ok, Mad Hatter and Rabbit, would you like some tea?” I asked.
“Oh yes please!! Ahem, SUGAR!!” shouted the Mad Hatter as he clapped his hands.
The sugar flew over straight away as the spoon scooped some sugar out and poured it on the Rabbit’s head. The Rabbit simply giggled as it extended one finger to the top of its head and tasted some of the sugar.
“Deliciously sweet!!” he exclaimed as I laughed.
I poured the tea into the cup as it suddenly started to leak out from the bottom, only to be caught by another cup, which the Mad Hatter took and drank from.
“Would you like some tea?” asked the Mad Hatter as he poked his tongue out, unable to roll it back in.
“Yes please!!”
“Ok, would you like Earl Grey, Jasmine, Green, Black, Red, Flam Heel, Spicy, Pepero, Thai, Bear Tole or just the usual?” asked the rabbit as he picked up numerous teapots which contained the flavours of the ones he just listed.
“I think I will just go with Jasmine.” I smiled.
He picked up a green teapot as a peach pink liquid streamed out of the teapot and flowed into my cup. I picked the cup up as I gulped the liquid down. It was nice and warm as it trickled down my throat. We continued to talk and laugh as grandpa and I watched the two perform silly stunts for us and tell us ridiculous jokes that don’t even make sense. Soon, night fell upon us, as I knew that my birthday was about to end.
