"Do you have everything?" Gabby asks as I pick up the bag from the floor.

"Yeah, pretty sure" I reply.

I turn around and look around one more time. We didn't arrive with a lot of things but we've collected things on our journey. We got some clothes for Zoë since we really didn't have any time to get prepared and bring the ones we had already bought.

There's a lot of small things too, a blanket to wrap Zoë into like a burrito, some kind of medicine for Gabby and a paper with information about our revisit in two weeks.

As we're about to leave the room, there's a knock on the door. It's Herrmann, and he's already shining bright like a diamond, and he hasn't seen the baby yet.

"Rumors said the family was expanded" he say.

Gabby look up, her smile is just as bright as the one I can see on Herrmann. Gabby has a really strong relation with Herrmann. I mean, Herrmann has a lot of kids and are also a very wise man, he helps Gabby out a lot and I know he will do now as well.

"Yeah, this is Zoë" Gabby says as she hand Zoë over to Herrmann.

He looks like a kid on Christmas Day. Herrmann holds the newborn in his arms, supporting her neck. She looks like she's smaller than a bag of flour from the store. Tiny toes peek from her burrito blanket, dangling in the comfortable summer breeze.

"Wow, she's gorgeous" he say "and look at that smile" he continue and her lips curls into a even bigger smile.

"Well she obviously looks like me" Gabby says jokingly, referring to that Zoë's beauty comes from herself.

Herrmann laughs "I 'gotta say there's a bit of both, mommy's eyes, daddy's mouth" he say.

Herrmann walk to Gabby and give Zoë back. I can see on his face that he does want to hold her longer but something is keeping him from doing it.

"I should probably go back to work before someone mess up" he say, looking strange at me.

"Yeah, who's lieutenant by the way?" I ask.

"Me, that's why I should get going" he say.

I laugh and say goodbye and then he leaves.

I grab all our stuff and we walk out of the hospital. We grab a cab and go home, that's all we need at the moment.

We are home and set, luckily I had already built the crib. I did that one evening when Gabby was out with the girls, and I was bored and alone.

Zoë has fallen asleep and Gabby and I have some time to spend.

I see her sitting in the sofa, watching some boring documentary as usual. I walk there and sit down beside her.

"What happened with me and Alyssa wasn't what it may have looked like, okay? I never even thought about feeling for her, because I've always felt something good about you and I still do" I say. I take a deep breath "and I don't know if the situation made you feel unwanted or something but-" I continue but I get interrupted.

Gabby lean forward and but her lips to mine to shut me up. My hand drift to her hip and I pull her closer. I know I love her, because I still get butterflies when I see her and I've seen her more then a hundred times. The first time we met, she stole my heart but that's okay, I'll let her keep it.
