There was a long pause. I could tell that Gigi was in shock.
"No. It's not possible!" she shouted. I shut my eyes tightly. "He sent me a letter. He knows where I live. He's been tracking me all this time!" I sobbed.
Josh hugged me and tried to calm me down.
Gigi gasped. "Em, everything will be alright. Just calm down. He will never get to you."
I sobbed louder. "No!" I shouted and threw the phone across the room. I buried myself in Josh's arms.
He lifted me up and carried me to the bed. He laid me down and I rolled to the side, not wanting him to see me in this state.
I felt the blanket cover me and I clutched the pillow. I shut my eyes, wishing this was all a dream.
Josh
Emily was sleeping peacefully, but the dried tear stains on her face made me furious.
How dare that idiot come back and send Emily that letter? He was scaring her and being such a creep.
I wanted to punch him until he was unconscious. I wanted him to forget about Emily and just mind his own damn business. I hated him as much as Emily did. She thought that the past would never come back to haunt her, but he just had to come back.
If he does try anything, he will wish he never should've. He doesn't deserve to be called Emily's father, let alone - biological father. It was a nightmare that she even spoke about him and thought about it. She doesn't deserve to have this - him, coming for her!
I can't believe that he tried to kidnap her when she was young. It caused her mom to die. If her mom hadn't helped, Emily would be dead. Her mom didn't deserve this, Emily doesn't deserve this. That bastard is going to be done when I get my hands on him.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. I got up from the chair and walked to the living room.
Once I unlocked the door, it burst open before I could even turn the knob. Gigi stormed inside with Brandon running in behind her.
"Gigi, calm down!" he shouted.
She turned around and I could see her face clearly now. Her eyes were red, like she was crying.
Tears were dried on her cheeks and more were falling down. Her hair was messy and she didn't care that her bun was now turning into a tangled ponytail.
"No! I can't! Not when this is happening!" She looked at me. "Where is she?" she whispered.
I sighed. "She's asleep. She never stopped crying. I tried to calm her down, but nothing worked."
Her breath hitched and she ran to the bedroom where Emily was. Brandon walked up to me and rubbed his head.
"The girls are frightened," I stated. Brandon sighed. "What are we going to do?"
I looked down at the ground. "I guess you know too, huh?" He walked to the couch and sat down. "Yeah."
I sat down in a chair. "We have to keep them safe. Especially Emily. She hasn't been herself since she read that bastard's letter."
Brandon nodded. "Gigi is just as scared as Emily. However, Richard will hurt anyone who gets in his way. Therefore, the four of us are in danger."
I shot up from the chair, my blood boiling. "Richard? Richard Jamison?"
Brandon didn't look at me. He just nodded, without a word.
I tightened my fists and punched the wall behind me. I panted hard, anger flowing through my veins.
"Richard Jamison is on the top five list of wanted criminals! Have you heard of his crimes? No one has ever stopped him before!" I shouted.
A hand gripped my shoulder. "He is one of the strongest criminals, but he also has a weak point. If we can figure out what it is, we can stop him," said Brandon.
I turned around swiftly, causing his hand to fall down against his side. "Shit! I didn't know he was her father! She never told me."
Brandon shook his head. "Emily and Gigi know the dangers that will happen if anyone finds out. Someone will definitely call the police and that will just make Richard's plan more violent."
He looked at me seriously. "Do you want people to hurt Emily just because she is his daughter? Everyone will think she is a threat and will despise her. Do you want that?"
All of a sudden, my anger vanished and I softened. I thought about how everyone will treat her if they knew her father.
She'll get hurt and Richard will find her easier because of the talk. I can't let that happen.
I clenched my jaw. "No. We can't let that happen. We have to protect them."
I looked at Brandon.
"And I know just where to start."
