I bolted out of bed like my feet were on fire. Something didn't feel right. I quickly ran to Emily's bedroom and pushed open the door.
I froze when her bed looked like it was fixed. Just when I was about to run to the other rooms, I spotted a black box in front of her bed.
I walked towards it slowly and gasped when I saw the empty space in the shape of two guns.
I quickly ran to Gigi and Brandon's room and banged on the door with my fist. "Guys! Wake up!" The door opened and a tired Brandon stood there. "Dude! We are trying to sleep here!"
Gigi popped up behind him and hugged herself. "Guys, what is going on?" she yawned.
"Emily is gone."
Their eyes widened. "What?!" I shook my head and ran to the living room.
I looked around for her in case she tried to hurt herself with the gun. However, I didn't see anyone so I figured that she definitely left. My eyes caught the sight of a piece of paper and I snatched it and read it.
I immediately screamed in frustration and punched the wall. My knuckles stung and they would definitely bruise, but I didn't care.
Gigi and Brandon ran to me and Gigi read the note. "N-no. She can't go back there!" she shouted. Gigi crumpled up the note and ripped it into pieces.
My chest was moving up and down due to my heavy panting. I looked at Gigi. "Do you know where they kept you? Do you remember where that place is?!"
She nodded and closed her eyes. "Y-yes. I can take us there." Brandon ran outside and came back in less than ten seconds. He threw me two guns. He had two on him and carefully handed one to Gigi. I noticed her hand shaking as she gripped the cold metal.
Brandon suggested that we change into black. It'll give us a chance to blend in with the darkness of the night.
Once we changed, we left in my black truck and I drove faster than I've ever drove. It took us almost three hours until Gigi said, "Slow down. There's a hidden road on the side. We have to be careful though. Someone might be watching."
We soon spotted a road that was hidden by the trees. I turned carefully and the three of us were now watching all around us.
"Why would Emily do this?" Gigi cried. "She thinks it is her fault we are involved. She wants to keep up safe," Brandon explained, hugging her.
I gripped the steering wheel. "She isn't going to do this herself." So we kept driving. The only thing on my mind the entire time was Emily.
Emily
I carefully stepped over a bunch of leaves. Who knows what nature can do to you. Someone might be watching me right now.
So far, I already met a wild dog and I ended up killing it. It scratched my leather pants, leaving me with a thin, painful bloody cut on my thigh.
I left the car on the side of the rode and walked the rest of my way inside the forest.
Just as I was about to walk further, I heard a bunch of leaves shuffling. Some voices whispered, but I couldn't hear who it was.
I gripped my gun on my thigh for preparation. I hid behind a big tree and waited for whoever was coming after me.
Suddenly, a hand wrapped around my wrist and I punched that sucker. He groaned in pain and I heard more running towards me.
Shit, more people?
I didn't dare use my gun now. The guy tried to capture me in his arms and he somehow managed to do so.
I quickly elbowed him hard in his stomach and he grunted. A girl's scream reached my ears. Did they take another girl too?
The guy tried to grab me once again but I kicked the back of his knee, making his fall down and I pushed him. He was laying down on the front side of his body.
I grabbed his arms and put them behind then and swung my legs over him. I was sitting down on him and keeping him in place.
"Who the fuck are you?!" I asked.
I heard footsteps and I looked up in caution. But I froze instead.
"Josh?" My voice barely came out in a whisper. His eyes were wide and he looked at the person below me.
I looked too and gasped when I finally noticed that it was Brandon. I got off and backed up into a tree.
"What are you doing here? I can't put you in danger anymore! I'm trying to protect you."
Josh walked up to me and hugged me tightly. "I couldn't let you go alone. You need someone to protect you too."
I hugged him back and welcomed myself in his warm and comforting embrace. He kissed my forehead. "I thought I would lose you."
"Emily?"
My eyes widened and I saw Gigi standing there with tear stains. I ran to hug her and she did the same. "Don't ever do that again!" she cried.
Brandon hugged me as well. "You have quite a punch," he said with a hint of jest.
I chuckled. But my smile quickly disappeared. "We can't go home. I can't go yet. I have to go get him first."
The three of them nodded and we all walked to the hidden building at the end of the forest. We were determined to end this once and for all.
