As I came out of the water, I noticed Emily sitting on the sand and watching me. I took of my shirt and her eyes widened. A satisfied smirk formed on my lips.
I came up to her and she stood up. "Alright, nice entrance," she said. She started to walk towards the water again.
I watched her in confusion. She dove in and about five seconds later, she came up.
She started to take off her cover-up. My eyes widened. She walked out of the water and shook her hair. Emily looked so beautiful.
Plus, her bikini was perfect. She held the cover-up in her hand and when she nearly reached me, she threw it to me.
"Sorry, couldn't let you take the spotlight," she said.
I threw the damp cloth on our towels and went after her. She ran and dove underwater. I did too.
We stayed at the beach until 3:30. "Well, time to go home," Emily said.
"You go ahead first. I'll get the stuff." The car was far, so we had to walk for a few minutes. Emily started heading towards the car first.
I quickly grabbed the towel and my shirt. I double checked to make sure we had everything.
Holding the stuff, I walked towards the parking lot.
But I stopped in my tracks when I heard grunting and shouting. I ran to where the noise was coming from and I saw Cassandra with Emily.
Emily was on the ground. It looked like Cassandra had pushed her or something. I was about to stop Cassandra, but Emily quickly stood up.
I watched out of curiosity. "You don't know who you're messing with," Emily warned. Cassandra smirked. "Try me." I saw Emily's mouth twitch upwards.
"If you say so." And in one fast movement, her fist connected to Cassandra's jaw, making her fall backwards.
Emily wiped her nose. "Don't come to me picking a fight. You'll lose, Cassandra."
Cassandra panted and ran off, leaving Emily and me. Emily wiped her nose again.
I walked out. "What was that?" She looked at me and shrugged. "Cassandra wants to get beat up, she'll get it."
My eyes widened when I saw her bloody nose. "Emily," I whispered. She rose her hand to stop me. "Just don't."
I stood in my place. "How did that happen?" She wiped her nose again. "Cassandra hit me in the face with her handbag. She probably has bricks in there or something."
"Are yo-" Emily cut me off.
"Just let me be! I'm fine! I'm not that girl like before. I can handle this myself." Her voice cracked at the end.
She looked away from me and turned around. She walked to the nearby bench and sat there.
Emily continued to wipe her nose. I walked over there and sat down next to her. I took out a tissue to help. Before I could wipe it, she gripped my wrist.
"Josh, don't."
I didn't back down. "Shh. Stay still." She gazed into my eyes and her eyes softened.
I gently wiped her nose and the blood. I noticed her looking at me, but I pretended not to notice. Once the bleeding stopped, I glanced at her. Emily blushed and I tried not to smile. I threw the tissue away in the garbage can that was next to me. I looked back at Emily.
"There," I said. Emily bit her lip. "Thank you." I couldn't help, but let the smile I was hiding appear.
"Let's go home," I said.
