I woke up the next morning wishing I could just stay in bed. Being that it was only my second day of school though, I had no choice but to get up. I went into my bathroom, brushed my teeth and washed my face, before going into the closet to find something to wear. After finding a suitable outfit, I fixed my hair and makeup. Seeing that it was 7:15, I grabbed my bags and went downstairs. I walked into the kitchen to find Mia, Isaiah, and Belgium waffles.
"Did you even go home?" I smirked as I sat next to him.
"Yes, I went home, but Mia told me to come early for breakfast." He laughed.
"How did you know I would be riding with Zay?" I asked Mia before taking a bite of the delicious breakfast.
"I knew you didn't want me driving you everyday." She had a point. "Now hurry up and finish!" She smiled.
After I finished my last piece of bacon, Isaiah asked if I was ready to go. I put both of our plates in the sink and grabbed my stuff. Zay kissed Mia's cheek and said goodbye. I went to give her a hug and she whispered in my ear.
"Just remember, every time you give a guy your heart, it's a chance he'll give it back to you in pieces. You'll never know though unless you take the risk."
"Thanks. Love you!" I kissed her cheek before rushing out the door.
My second day went pretty much like my first. Gisele and the twins watched my every move, while Tim and Marcus competed for my attention. By the end of the day, the entire school thought I was Isaiah's new girlfriend. That seemed to bother Gisele more than me or Zay.
All in all, things were going great! That is, other than the fact that I was heartbroken! Eric had called a few times, but I wasn't ready to talk to him just yet. I was hurting, and that wasn't going to go away overnight. I thought about this song Mia emailed last night after our talk. How Could The One I Gave My Heart To by Aaliyah.
"How could the one I gave my heart to, break my heart so bad? How could the one that made me happy, make me feel so sad? Won't somebody tell me? So I can understand. If you loved me, how could you hurt me like that?"
I knew exactly what she meant. Who knew love could be so painful? The only good part about all of this was that I had Isaiah to take my mind off Eric. I was very lucky to have such a great friend. I really liked Bianca as well. She was a cool chick! We talked the entire Spanish class.
"Hey girl!" I spoke to Bianca.
"Wassup?" She smiled. "How are you enjoying your second day?"
"I'm getting the hang of it." When class was over, Zay walked us to lunch. We all sat together and Bianca introduced me to her friends. Tim and Marcus soon made their way over.
"Hey I'm having a party Friday after the game. You should come." She smiled, handing me an invitation.
"I'd love to." Zay snatched the invitation from my hand.
"Oh, so I can't get an invite?" He smiled at Bianca.
"You're holding it. I didn't expect Jasmine to come without you!" She replied. I could feel my face warm from the blush I was sure they both noticed.
"I wouldn't dream of it!" I said rolling my eyes. The truth was that I really wouldn't.
"Hey, wanna go shopping for an outfit tomorrow?" She asked.
"That sounds like a plan!" I smiled.
The last class of the day was finally here and I was happy beyond belief. I took my seat, Zay to my left and Bianca to my right. I was so ready to go home.
