Picture of Jermaine
I woke up to my phone ringing the next morning. I looked at the clock and saw that it was a little after nine.
"Hello." I answered groggily.
"Did I wake you?" Isaiah asked.
"Um, yeah. What are you doing up this early on a Saturday? Trying to catch some cartoons?" I joked.
"Ha ha. You're hilarious!" He said sarcastically. "Wake up! Half the day is gone already."
"Um, no half the day isn't gone! Do you know what time it is?" I half yelled.
"Jazzy, if you don't want to talk, just say so." He said calmly. I could just picture the stupid smile on his face.
"Oh fine! I'm up! Happy now?"
"Very. Now put on some clothes and brush your teeth. I'll be there in five minutes." He replied.
"What?" I shouted, but he'd already hung up. What was so important that I had to get up and dressed at nine on a Saturday morning?
I got out of the bed and threw a sweater on over my tank top. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. As soon as I finished, I heard the doorbell. When I got downstairs, Zay was sitting on the sofa with Maine talking about last night's game.
"What the heck, Isaiah?" I asked.
"Grab your coat and come sit in the car with me." He responded. I stood there a moment staring at him like he'd lost his mind before grabbing my coat and stepping into my Uggs.
When we got to the car, Zay opened the door for me to get in. Thankfully, it was still rather warm from his drive over. He got in and cranked the engine. A rap song that I didn't recognize was playing, but Zay turned it off. I was about to start with the questions when he reached in the back seat and grabbed two Mcdonalds' bags. He gave me one which contained a Mcgriddle and a hash brown, and he also gave me a cup of hot chocolate.
"Thank you, but what is this all about?" I asked. He didn't say anything at first.
"I have a show tonight and I was wondering if you'd come with me." He said after a moment. All this just to ask me something he already knew the answer to? "Marcus and Tim will be there." He added.
"Isaiah, you know I'd love to come. If it's alright with Mia, that is." I smiled.
"That's wassup." He replied.
"You didn't have to come over here just for that."
"Well I called last night, but I guess you were already sleep since you didn't answer." He said after a moment of silence.
"Was breakfast suppose to be a bribe?" I smirked.
"Of course not, Jazzy." He laughed. "Just wanted to do something nice for you."
"Thank you." I replied as I sipped my hot chocolate. Neither of us said anything for a few minutes.
"So, what time is the movie happening, and are we watching it in the theater?" He asked. I'd forgotten Mia had a theater since we always watched in the den. The screen in there was sixty inches, so it really served it's propose. However, there would be three... I don't know, couples? I guess, so the theater probably was a better idea.
"Six and yes. What time is your show?"
"Ten. I'll pick you up. Who all is watching the movie?" He asked. I didn't respond for a minute. "Jazzy?" I looked out the window.
"Oh, um, Bianca and Chris, you and I obviously...and Dashawn and Isis." I replied slowly.
"You know, if I didn't know better, I would think you were trying to hook me up." He laughed.
