"So what do we do now?" Elliot asked, we all looked at Luke, awaiting his answer.
"Guys you are so bad at this, you have to ask if there are any spirits there, duh." Luke said like if was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Go ahead mate." Elliot said, leaning back against the sofa.
"Ok here goes." Luke muttered under his breath, he was feeling as scared as the rest of us.
I looked at him, waiting for what he was going to do next, I expected him to say something amazing to make the spirits come to us.
"Are there any spirits there?" Luke asked the thin air.
Nothing happened.
"Oh well done Luke, you scared them away." I could hear the smirk in Elliot's voice.
"Shut up." Luke ordered, "Are there any spirits there?" He repeated.
Unexpectedly I could feel the planchette moving towards the 'yes' on the board.
"Stop moving it!" Emily shrieked.
"Shhhhh." Kylie hushed her, there was annoyance in her voice.
"I swear it's none of us, there's actually a spirit here." You could here the fear in Logan's voice.
I stared blankly at the board, it was definitely moving on its self, everyone's fingers were barely touching the wooden object.
Everyone's eyes widened in shock, fear and disbelief.
"What do you want?" Luke asked, a proud smile gleaming on his face.
"I just want to ta.."
"I just want to talk." Luke proudly read the letters spelt out.
"Well done genius." Elliot rolled his eyes. Logan elbowed him, "Ouch! What was that for?" Elliot yelped.
"Stop fighting guys, so spirit dude or girl talk if you wanna talk." Logan tried to sound chilled out and calm.
"Logan you can't just let it talk, you have to ask questions." Luke explained, "We can all ask a question."
"I'll go first, what's your name?" Logan asked.
"Shanabelle." That's not a name you hear everyday, I guess it was a name from the olden days.
"How did you die?" Elliot asked, he looked at Luke, showing he could also interact with the board.
"I was murdered."
"Who murdered you?" Kylie asked.
"My fiancé."
"Um why did he murder you?" Emily asked nervously.
"He was cheating on me and I found out."
"Harsh, how long ago did this happen?" Luke asked.
It was my turn to ask a question, it took me a few minutes to think of a good enough question.
"Where did you die?" As soon as I asked the question I regretted it, first of all it sounded weird when I said it out loud and secondly I don't really want to know the exact location this spirit died.
"Not far from here." Oh that's great, the ghost was a local.
"Creepy." You could tell Logan was getting excited about this, you could hear it in his voice.
"I don't like it." Emily wailed.
I felt terrified, this was a real spirit talking to us but I also felt lots of adrenaline, it's not that I was happy or excited, it was because I didn't know what would happen next.
