Our flashlights came back on suddenly, I could see everyone was scared. We didn't have long to find the 'treasure', we didn't even know if it existed, the mine was like a maze, one wrong turn and we could be stuck here for much longer than an hour.

"What do we do now Luke?" Asked Elliot.

"Why are you asking me?" Luke looked at the rest of us.

"Oh I don't know, maybe because you've been in charge of us since this whole spirit thing started, every time someone else said what to do you had a different opinion and now when someone is actually asking you what to do, you're not going to say anything." Elliot was angrily clenching his fists.

"I suppose we have to find the treasure." Luke said quietly.

"The only problem is the map only says how to get to the mine not how to find whatever it that spirit wants us to find." Logan told them.

"Let me see." Luke got the map from Logan and turned it over, "Logan's right, there's no directions, but there's a quote saying 'there's a light at the end of the tunnel' whatever that means."

"What good is a map that doesn't tell you where to go?" Logan sighed.

I thought about the quote, 'there's a light at the end of the tunnel', it took me a while before I finally figured it out, we were in a mine, mines had lots of tunnels, we just had to find a light.

"I've got it." I said happily to the others, I told them what I thought the quote meant, they all nodded in agreement.

"Good thinking." Elliot complimented.

"There's only one problem, this mine is huge, how are we gonna find a light tunnel in an hour? It's not gonna be light outside for about another two hours, maybe more." Luke did have a good point, it was only 4am and it normally got light at about 6am.

"Um well I guess we just have to look." My idea wasn't really going to plan.

"Let's split up." Luke announced.

"Luke, your not in Scooby-Doo." Logan joked making us all laugh.

Me and Elliot paired together, we had to search the south end of the mine. So far we had gone down five dead end tunnels which luckily weren't that long but it was still annoying and we also went down two tunnels that ended up going around in a circle.

We had left the map on the floor where we started so we would know if we weren't getting anywhere, me and Elliot had a good idea, we made a small pile of dirt in front of whatever tunnel we chose to go down, so we would know if we went in a circle.

"Does this tunnel ever end?" I whined.

"Can't be far now." Elliot tried to sound enthusiastic but the miles of walking was getting to him and he sounded as bored and as tired as I was.

"I'm bored and tired and hungry and I can't walk anymore." I knew I was annoying Elliot but he didn't really react.

"Fine you stay here and I'll come pick you up later." Elliot joked.

"Nah I'm good."

We walked for a little longer in silence before Elliot started talking,"Hey since we're alone right now can I talk to you about the girl I like?"

My heart sank a little, "uh yeah sure."

"How can I ask her on a date?" He bit his lip which I found really hot.

"Haven't you asked a girl on a date before?" I asked curiously.

"Well yeah, but I didn't really feel anything for them girls but with this girl it's different, I don't wanna look like an idiot in front of her, she deserves better than me." He kicked the ground.

"Are you friends with her?" I asked.

"Yeah really good friends, at least I think so." He said.

"Just tell her that you like her, say what you like about her or something then ask her on a date." I explained as if it was easy, personally I had no idea what I was talking about, I'd never been on a date.

"Do you think she'd actually like a guy like me?" He motioned to himself.

"Yeah duh, your a really nice guy, your good looking, kind, fun, amazing and generally perfect, if she doesn't like you at first I'm sure she will fall head over heels in love with you."  I told him.

"Okay, Gabrielle I really like you, I've liked you since the day I saw you, I love how smart you are and how beautiful you are. I've never seen anyone as perfect as you, your an amazing person and I was wondering if you'd go on a date with me?" Elliot rehearsed.

"That was great, now you just have to say it to the girl." I felt a pang of jealousy, some other girl would be hearing Elliot say that to them.

"Um, I wasn't practising, I actually meant it." Elliot said.

"W-what? You like me?" I spluttered.

"Yeah." He admitted.

I'd never felt happier, my crush liked me back, I felt as if I was dreaming, I was mentally screaming in excitement.

"So, do you want to go on a date?" Elliot asked me with a smile.

"I'll get back to you, if you kinda haven't noticed we are lost in a mine looking for a light and some kind of treasure with an evil spirit who wants us dead." I didn't want to sound to keen.

"Ok fair enough."

We carried on walking in a comfortable silence, it felt like we had been walking for hours, my legs were aching and I was really tired. Eventually we came to three more tunnels.

"Which one?" I asked Elliot.

"You choose, I chose last time." He said.

I chose the first one, we made a small pile of dirt marking where we had been just in case we came back here.

We walked down the first tunnel for a short time before we came back to the pile of dirt, we had gone in a circle.

We then went down the middle tunnel and came to another set of tunnels, the first and second tunnels lead to a dead end so we tried the third tunnel and it lead to an opening.

Very, very cliche but it was adorable none the less.
