We ended up using the elevator to get into the mine, it still worked which was really surprising since the mine had been closed for over 50 years.
The elevator was very dark and scary but it was very similar to the ones in hotels except this elevator went much further than a few floors.
Inside the actual mine was even more terrifying than the house and the elevator put together, it was pitch black, there were a lot of tunnels going in different directions, some of them had collapsed.
Luckily for us we had six phones between us, each had a very bright flashlight. Unfortunately phone battery's die very quickly so we had to be quick in the mine or be stuck in total darkness.
I felt something touch my shoulder, making me scream.
"Gabrielle what's wrong?" Elliot looked panicked.
I turned around and saw Logan standing behind me, grinning.
"Logan tried to scare me." I hit Logan's arm as hard as I could, which wasn't that hard considering I had the upper body strength of a marshmallow.
"Tried? I did scare you." Logan chuckled.
"It's not funny." I crossed my arms.
"Oh come on, it was fricken hilarious." Logan laughed.
I glared at him before hitting his arm again.
"Ow." He said even though it didn't hurt him that much.
"Hey don't break my man." Kylie laughed.
"Yeah don't break me." Logan joined in.
"If you don't stop, I'll break both of you." The way Elliot as if he was a parent should if his naughty children.
"He started it." I said childishly making Elliot chuckle, "Tell him to say sorry."
"Say sorry Logan." Elliot told him, his arms crossed, tapping his foot impatiently.
"Fine, I'm sorry." Logan sighed but then laughed at how silly we were being.
"Grow up." Luke interrupted, "you guys need to be serious."
"Chill, we were just messing about, there's nothing wrong with a bit of fun." Elliot said.
"Well stop it, there's no time for fun." Luke was way to serious, "we have to find the 'treasure' or else."
"Ghosts can't hurt you." Elliot said matter of factly.
"Shut up." Luke said bitterly, "I'm sorry spirit, he didn't really mean that." Luke spoke to the thin air.
"Seriously?" Elliot raised his eyebrows.
"Elliot stop it ok? Doesn't what happened at the house prove they can and will hurt you." I told him.
"Yeah, yeah whatever." Elliot mumbled.
I frowned at him.
"Fine spirits, you can hurt me." Elliot's voice was full of sarcasm.
Suddenly Logan's flashlight went off, "The battery must've died." He said trying to turn his phone back on.
Then Elliot's flashlight went off too, "My battery wasn't even that low." He complained.
Then Kylie and Emily's flashlights went off, followed by mine and Luke's.
"That can't be a coincidence." Luke said.
Then I heard someone laugh, it was one of those creepy laughs like the one the bad guy always has in a movie.
"Who laughed?" Kylie asked.
"You heard it too?" I thought it was just my imagination but apparently everyone else heard it.
"It wasn't any of us." Confirmed Luke.
"W-who was it then?" Stuttered Emily.
"I think it was Shanabelle." Logan said.
"Shanabelle was that you?" Luke asked the spirit.
There was another laugh, then a whisper, "Yes, yes it was."
"Wh-why are you here?" Asked Luke, this was the first time Luke had been scared since the spirit first arrived.
"I'm keeping you." The voice whispered, this just got even more creepier.
"Wait, what do you mean?" Asked Luke, he was as creeped out as the rest of us.
"I'm not letting any of you go." The voice said.
The spirit was going to keep us here? in the mine? forever?
I could feel Elliot next to me, he was shivering, either he was cold or scared, most probably both.
"Elliot are you ok?" I whispered to him.
"Yeah, I- I'm fine." His voice was shaking.
"You sure?" I knew he wasn't fine.
He hesitated before answering, "No, I'm terrified."
"Really? Me to, in fact we all are." I assured him.
"You probably think I'm a loser now, me being scared and all." He said sadly.
"No of course not, your the bravest guy I know, we're all scared but your brave by admitting your scared." I took his hand in mine.
"Damn, your so amazing." Elliot said making me blush, luckily it was dark so he couldn't see.
"I'll give you an hour to find my treasure and if you don't, I'll make your lives hell." The spirits voice cackled.
"But you said 24 hours, we have more than an hour left." Elliot said to the unseen spirit.
"I've changed my mind, one hour, that's all." She cackled.
"Um ok." Luke said, "if we find it, will you let us go?"
"I'll think about it." Shanabelle said cruelly.
It's not exactly Ouija the movie but I kinda like this story.
