"I'm ready." I confidently said unlike last time when I was last to be ready.
"Me too." Elliot said.
"Me three." Luke added.
"Me four." Logan carried on.
"Me five." Kylie joined in.
"Me six." Emily said last.
We all started to chant in unison, "Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye!"
I could feel the planchette shifting under my fingers, I looked down and saw it was moving towards 'goodbye' which made me smile, this plan was working.
"Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye!" We repeated again and again, determined to make the planchette move to goodbye.
The planchette was right next to the 'goodbye', we heard a ear piercing scream of defeat. The planchette swiftly moved over 'goodbye'.
She was gone!
We all looked at each other, I couldn't stop the huge smile crossing my face, all six of us had been through so much in just one night.
We all jumped up in victory, we had a quick celebration which contained Logan and Luke dancing like idiots, Emily and Kylie were shouting happily and me and Elliot just stood there happier than we had ever been before.
"You know that question you asked me earlier?" I said to Elliot.
"Which one?" He was a little confused.
"The one when you asked if I would go on a date with you." I smiled at him.
"Oh that one, what about it?" He bit his lip in anticipation.
"Well since we are no longer in a life or death situation, I want to go on a date with you." This made Elliot jump up and down in happiness.
"Really? You actually mean that?" He couldn't quite believe me.
"Yes." I hugged him tight.
The rest of our friends came over to me and Elliot wanting to know what the excitement was about.
"Gabrielle is going on a date with me." Elliot told them gleefully.
"Congrats dude." Luke and Logan said to Elliot.
"So is the spirit gone forever?" I finally asked.
"Yeah hopefully." Elliot said with his arm around my waist.
By now it was almost seven o'clock.
"We better get back." Luke said.
"Group hug!" Emily said.
We all went in a circle and had a group hug, it was quite emotional.
"You are the bestest friends ever." I told them all because it was true.
Then we all started walking back through the tunnel, all of us were exhausted.
"Wait! What about the treasure?" Elliot stopped us in our tracks.
We had all totally forgot about the treasure, we hadn't even noticed it was now light outside, there was a beam of light shining brightly through the hole in the roof of the cave, it spotlighted onto the far wall of the mine.
We all turned around and Elliot ran over to where the light ended and removed a brick from the wall with ease.
"I found it." He said delightfully, he pulled out a gold necklace, it had a heart on it which was engraved with the words, 'I'll love you forever', it was beautiful.
"You should have it." Elliot held up the delicate necklace, everyone else agreed with him. He was about to put it on me when I moved away.
"I can't, you all helped find it, I can't just keep it." I opposed.
"You were the one who found the map." Emily said.
"And the death certificate." Kylie added.
"And you found the right tunnel." Logan told me.
"And you came up with the idea to make a new ouija board." Luke reminded me.
"All of that and you stood up to and evil spirit." Elliot made me blush, "You deserve it."
Elliot moved my hair out of the way then put the necklace on me, I smiled brightly, these were the best friends in the world, there was nobody who could be better than them.
"Let's go." I took Elliot's hand and started walking out of the mine, everyone else followed us.
