I kept looking through the piles of paper, right at the bottom of the box was a folded piece of paper, I unfolded it very carefully. It was blurry but still readable, it was the map. I'd found it.

"Elliot I found it!" I yelled happily, I was proud of myself.

He didn't answer.

"Elliot?" I called again, I looked across the room and saw that he was staring blankly at me, it was like he couldn't hear me.

"Are you ok?" He didn't look like his usual self, his cheeky grin was replaced by an emotionless  frown, his normally cheerful hazel eyes were now blank and plain.

I ran over to him, "Elliot?" I waved my hand in front of his face trying to get his attention, he didn't even blink.

"Elliot are you ok? Can you hear me?" I asked frantically, I knew something was wrong.

I didn't know what to do, should I go get the others? Or try and get Elliot out of his trance by myself?

"Die." He whispered so quietly I could barely hear him.

"What did you say?" I asked frowning.

"Die." He repeated, I started backing away from him.

This wasn't right, saying I was scared would be an understatement, I was truly terrified. This wasn't Elliot, I mean it was his body but not him, it was as if someone had taken over him.

Elliot stood up and started walking towards me, "Die, you don't deserve to live, this is all your fault." He chanted.

What was wrong with him? Was I dreaming? How could I stop him?

He tried to grab me but I jumped out of the way causing him to growl in anger, my heart was thudding so hard, I wondered if he could hear it.

I needed to get out of this attic, I walked backwards towards the door, keeping my eyes firmly on this possessed creature in Elliot's body.

I wasn't looking where I was walking so I didn't notice the loose floorboard sticking out of the floor, I tripped over it falling onto the ground. By now tears were rolling down my face.

I could hear Elliot walking towards me, I tried to get up but I was frozen to the spot, he held me down on the floor and I could see he had a red pen knife in his hand.

"I'm going to kill you." Elliot whispered eerily into my ear, his face close to mine.

I was going to be killed in a creepy house on Halloween night by someone who I had a crush on.

Then something happened, Elliot's grip seemed to have loosened, I built up enough strength to push him off me and run to the door.

I was safe, for now.

I pushed the door but it was stuck, someone had locked the door.

"Help! Open the door!" I screamed hoping someone would hear me, even though it was impossible, the others were downstairs still looking for the stupid map.

Elliot was on his feet and making his way over to me, he had a wicked smirk on his face, "You have nowhere left to run." I was half expecting him to do some kind of evil laugh like those villains you see in movies.

"Elliot please don't do this." I pleaded, tears were rapidly falling down my face , "It's me Elliot, it's Gabrielle, I'm the girl in your science class, I'm one of your friends, the one who really likes you, the one who has a crush on you, don't you remember me?" I looked straight into his eyes looking for some sort of reaction.

I'd given up, preparing myself for the pain that was about to come.
