After a very long walk through the dark forest and a lot of arguing between Luke and Elliot, we finally found the house that belonged to my apparent, great, great, great grandfather, it towered high over the trees, I was surprised we didn't see it earlier.

It was about 11pm and it was cold and raining, we were all tired and freezing but we still had to find the map, our time was limited.

"Well we found it." Luke said proudly.

"Yes we did." Mumbled Elliot, he was still pouting from when Luke got to choose the directions to go.

"We should split up, we'll find the map quicker. This house is huge." Logan recommended.

"Ok me, Gabrielle and Emily are one group and you, Kylie and Luke are another group." Elliot didn't want to be anywhere near Luke right now, he didn't like being bossed around by him.

"Nah, if we go in pairs we can search more places at once." Luke opposed, Elliot frowned getting more angry at him.

"Fine whatever." Elliot gave in not caring anymore.

"It's gonna be me and Kylie, Elliot and Gabrielle and Luke and Emily." Logan grinned at Kylie.

"Objection." Emily protested, "do I have to go with Luke?"

"Uh yeah, unless you want to stay out here on yourself." Pointed out Luke, any normal person would be offended that someone didn't want to pair with them but since Luke wasn't normal, he didn't seem to care.

"Um...on second thought I'll go with Luke." Emily quickly rethought.

Luke took a small step towards the door, it creaked open making Luke jump back in surprise.

"Hello?" Luke called into the dark emptiness of the house,

"Your not in a horror movie." I giggled from behind him.

"Nobody's gonna answer you mate." Elliot laughed along with me.

"Shut up both of you." Luke was angry at us, he was taking this very seriously.

"Chill dude." Logan put his hand on Luke's shoulder.

"Do we have to go inside? It's either haunted or full of spiders but probably both." I looked at Luke for an answer.

"Yeah we have to, we didn't come all this way for nothing." Luke answered, shaking his head in frustration, "I should have come on myself." He mumbled under his breath.

"I'll go first." Logan shone the torch from his phone into the house before boldly stepping inside, we all followed him cautiously.

"Elliot and Gabrielle, you go look in the attic, Logan and Kylie you look down here and me and Emily will look upstairs." Luke said pointing in each direction.

Me and Elliot slowly made our way up the spiral staircase, taking one step at a time because the building was old, nobody had lived there for over 50 years, we didn't know how safe it was.

When we got to the attic it was dark and full of cobwebs and dust. There were spiders everywhere and I don't really like spiders, in fact I hate them.

"Trust Luke to give us the worst part of the house to look for the stupid map, it's scary up here." I said glancing around the dark, dusty room.

"Yeah I know, it's gonna be impossible to find the map in here." Elliot motioned towards a ton of boxes and cabinets.

"Where do we start?" I asked.

"You check through the bookshelf and I'll look through the boxes." He pointed to a large wooden bookshelf in the corner of the room.

There were four shelves altogether on the bookshelf, I started checking the first one, it was really dusty and had some old books on it, I flicked through the pages of the books but they were just regular reading books.

The second shelf was filled with what looked like notebooks, most of them were falling apart and the pages had gone yellow from the amount of time they had been there for.

The third shelf had a box on it, I pulled it down and carefully opened the lid, it was filled with old photographs. I quickly looked through them being careful not to break them. One photo in particular caught my eye, it was a picture of a man and women holding hands, it was in black and white so it was hard to see who they were.

"Elliot come and see this." Elliot was on his knees looking through a box which was filled with old, moth eaten clothes.

"What?" He came over and stood by me, I showed him the photograph.

"It's a photo of a man and a woman who I'm pretty sure are my great, great, great grandfather and his girlfriend." I showed him the picture.

"Do you think it's Shanabelle or the one he cheated on her with?" He asked, he squinted at the blurred picture.

"I don't know, they look young so I'm guessing it's Shanabelle but I could be wrong." I shrugged.

Elliot went back to look through the boxes, I put the photograph in my jean pocket, he was my grandfather after all, I should have something to remember him by.

On the very last shelf was another box, in it was mostly bills and letters from family and friends. Then I found something mysterious, it was the death certificate for Richard Junior McCall, I quickly folded it up and shoved it in my pocket alongside the photograph, I had to show my friends this.
