Ch. 22- Choices and Goodbyes

KATE'S POV
I woke up later with a headache. I slowly opened my eyes to see Jack's head on my bed. I looked around and found Ky asleep in a chair in the corner. I sat up which made Jack raise his head.
" Kate your awake." He hugged me and I saw Ky was now awake. Ky came and gave me a hug also.
" Are you ok?" Ky asked. I nodded my head.
" Yeah. How about you two?" I asked concerned.
" We are fine." Jack answered.
" What about my father?" I asked. He looked down.
" He no longer has the power. He will be sent now to a secure location far away." Jack said. He held my hand.
" Ok But what happened to the power?" I asked.
" I have it here in this scroll. But we will talk more about it later. For now you have some friends that want to see you." Ky said. I got up and both boys lead me to Jerry's room. Everyone was there. Milton, Rudy, and Jerry. They had their backs turned.
" Hey guys." I said softly. They all turned and saw me. The ran to me and each gave me a hug. I was happy to see them.
" Are you ok?" Jerry asked.
" What happened to Darkness?" Rudy asked.
" What happened?" Milton asked.
" Guys, Guys. Calm down. I'm ok. My father is locked away so he's gone for good. And I'll tell you the story some other time." I said. They then looked at Ky wide eyed. They must not have seen him yet.
" What's he doing here?" Jerry asked.
" Jerry it's fine. He helped save me. He's good now." I tried to convince them. It took some time but they all agreed. So we all just hung out together. It was nice. Jack and Ky were getting along. Jerry had Maria with him. Milton was still freaking over the fact that he got to speak at the science museum. Kim and I are now best friends. And Rudy is... Well Rudy. The week flew by and before I knew it I had to start packing to go back. It was the day before we left. I finished and decided to check on the guys. I went to Jack's room where I heard angry whispers. I knocked and went in. I saw Jack and Ky turn to see me. Ky came up to me.
" What's going on?" I asked.
" Kate, There is something I need to ask you." Ky said. Then Jack came up to me.
" Kate. I just want you to know no matter what I will always love you. Just follow your heart and think about what will make you happiest." Jack gave me a kiss on the head then turned and walked out. I turned back to Ky and gave him a questioning look.
" The scroll needs to be destroyed before it ends up in wrong hands. And I must be the one to do it. I will have to travel a ways to get to where I'm going. But I wanted to say that I love you. And I don't want to lose you. So will you go with me?" I stared at him. I didn't know. "You can come with me or stay here with Jack. But you have to choose now." I didn't know who to pick. All the memories of both guys flashed into my mind. Then I realized who I was going to be with.
" Ky, I love you. But I can't go with you. Traveling is not my thing. And I don't want to leave all of my friends. And I love Jack. I always have. I hope you can forgive me." I said. And looked into his eyes. A smile was on his lips but there was sadness in his eyes.
" I understand. I love you. Goodbye." He said. Then I kissed him. I didn't know if I would ever see him again. So I gave him one last kiss. When we pulled apart he pulled me into a hug.
" I'm gonna miss you." I said with tears running down my face. He pulled away and held my face in his hands wiping away my tears.
" Look this isn't goodbye. I'll come back. As soon as I destroy the stroll. And I'll keep in touch. But this isn't goodbye. Its just a I'll see you later." He looked at me with the same smirk on his lips. I smiled.
" You better stay in touch and come back." I said.
" I will." He replied. He pulled me into another hug. Then he let go and went to the window.
" You do know there are doors." I said laughing a little. He looked at me.
" Yeah. But this is way cooler." He said.
" Just like old times." I said.
" Yeah. I'll see you later." He said jumping down. I leaned out the window and saw him run away. When he was out of sight I replied.
" Goodbye, Ky." I then turned around and headed to Jerry's room. I thought that's where everyone would be. And as I entered the room I found that I was correct. I had a sad expression on my face. Jack came up to me and ask the rest to give us a second and they left.
" Well?" He asked. I could see worry in his eyes.
" I have to go get my bag." He looked at me with sad eyes thinking I was picking Ky.
" So you picked Ky?" He looked down. I raised his head.
" I have to grab my bag so I can to back to Seaford with you." He spun me around while I was laughing.
" What made you pick me?" He asked.
" Jack it has always been you. Ever since that night in front of the dojo. It will always be you. No matter what comes our way. We can make it through. Together. Then He picked me up placing a kiss on my lips. We pulled away and walked down to the rest. Jack was talking to Kim and saying goodbye and Jerry was telling Maria goodbye while the rest were talking to me. But I wasn't listening. I keep thinking Its them. Always has been. They've saved me from everything. They gave me a chance. They showed me what true friendship was. I will never forget it. I love them. All of them.

(two months later)
We were all down in the dojo. Paris wasn't the experience we thought we would have but it brought us closer together. I was sitting by Jack. Our hands entwined and my head on his shoulder. We all were talking about the fair coming up. When I got a text. I sat up and pulled out my phone.
Ky: Hey. I just wanted to tell you that the scroll is gone for good.
Kate: Does that mean your coming home?
Ky: Yes. In might take awhile but I will be there.
Kate: Yay! Ok see you soon.
I put up my phone until I got another message.
Unknown: This is your mom. Come to wasabi dojo (the old one) I would love to see you.
I froze. This isn't possible. Dad told me mom was dead. I haven't seen her since I was little. I looked up to Jack and he saw the message. And he knew exactly what I was thinking.
" Let's go to the old dojo!" Jack shouted.

~~~ This is it. The end of book two. I have decided to make a third book but it won't be out right away. The third book will indeed be the last. But since I want this to be last chapter I'm adding questions at the bottom. Thank you for those of you who have stuck with me since the beginning. You guys are amazing.
