Haley's POV (Man, it's been a while since I've written in her perspective)

It's been a couple of days since Vanoss – which I know totally isn't his name – allowed Bobby and I to have more shifts together. Honestly, I don't understand why he gets to make all the choices for "our" group; just because we started to work together and we integrated into his crew doesn't mean that he's immediately the boss. The fact that I wasn't allowed to make choices anymore made me furious, which was why after much thought last night, I decided to storm down to his room and chew him out for it. But I reached his room and banged on the door, there was no response from him. "Vanoss, you better come out here. I need to talk to you!" I yelled, frustrated.

"And what would you need to talk to him about, hm?" A voice questioned from behind me. I tilted my head and saw that the voice belonged to Vanoss' second in command, Delirious. He was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. His bloodied hockey mask obscured his face, hiding his emotions; the only way for me to determine how he felt was if he voiced them or through his eyes. No wonder why they call him Delirious; his mask makes him look like a freaking psychopath. For the two weeks that our two groups had merged together I hadn't seen much of Delirious; Vanoss said that he was on supply runs. Vanoss wouldn't tell me where he went for the supply runs though, which yet again made me furious. I had a right know what was going on within our merged group, and all about the operations.

I turned from Vanoss' door and faced Delirious. "I need to talk to him about the 'information distribution' between the two of us. You know where to find him?"

He ignored my question and snorted. "'Information distribution?'" Delirious said mockingly, using his fingers to make air quotations. "Man, I don't even think that's a real phrase." He had a cheerful, jokey twinkle in his eyes; he must've had a good day so far.

I sighed, exasperated. "That's beside the point. He's not talking to me about important things, like where you've been going on supply runs, and I want to know what they are. So I'll ask again. Do you know where he is?"

Immediately, the twinkle I had seen in Delirious' eyes vanished, a serious one replacing it. He straightened up, stepping away from the wall and advancing towards me with his arms crossed. "Listen Haley," he said stiffly, "you should know that I'm just about as unhappy as you are about this arrangement, even if it is for the best. Now, you may be the leader of your group, but Vanoss is the leader of ours, and he's in charge. It's kind of obvious that we all still don't completely trust each other, and Vanoss is no exception. If he doesn't want to tell you something, so be it; you have no right to demand anything from him. Understand?"

I backed up into the wall, seething. "Yeah," I growled through gritted teeth, "I got it." How dare he tell me how to act and what I can and can't do?! He's not even the boss; he's only Vanoss' second in command. I already knew though that I was just going to ignore Delirious' warning and go on my way to find Vanoss after this.

"Good." Delirious backed up. "But of course, I already know that after this, you're just going to go search for Vanoss, so I'll spare him the wait so he can deal with this quickly. He's in the backyard doing some stuff with Alice." He started to walk away from me, and then paused. "Oh, and Haley?" Delirious threw over his shoulder, not bothering to look back at me, "You're lucky he made that promise."

That comment confused me, and I paused for a moment. "What do you mean 'He made that promise?'" But by the time I asked, he was already slipping around the corner of the corridor.

I stood there for a few moments, staring at the spot Delirious had stood at before, dumbfounded. 'He made that promise?' What does that even mean? And what promise is he talking about, and who made it? I was so distracted by my thoughts that I didn't hear the door to Bobby's room open; Bobby popped his head out of the doorway and asked with a concerned expression, "Hey Haley, are you okay?"
