Prologue
A third explosion fallowed by a scream resounded on the little planet of Calzuma. A planet ignored by humans and hidden in another dimension. In a burst of fear and adrenaline, Valerie Belar took her daughter of two years old in her arms and together they climbed the endless stairs to get to Tessa's room. Not knowing what to do, Valerie hid her daughter in the closet, hoping that she could escape the worst.
"Mommy... Why am I in the closet? Why aren't Sam and daddy here?" The little Tessa asked in an interrogative tone. A tear rolled slowly down Valerie's cheek when she heard the name of her second child.
"Sam is safe... Don't worry sweetheart." She took a pause and looked behind her to be sure that nobody was coming. "Daddy went to fight the bad people, but he's he's going to be okay."
"I'm scared." Another explosion shook the house and a lightning tore the night sky. Valerie put her hand in her daughter's grey hair. "Don't worry sweetie. You are so young... Everything is going to change soon. You'll be safe I promise you."
She leaned gently and put a kiss on Tessa's forehead. "I love you so much Tessa... I love you so much."
Chapter one: 14 years later

Damn alarm clock! I slowly open my eyes and turn off the ringer of this infernal device. I let out a long sigh, telling myself that it's only Tuesday. I would like to stay in my bed all day instead of doing mathematics and French. I stretch myself as best as I can and I get mechanically out of bed. The contact of cold floor under my feet gives me an unpleasant shudder. I go out of my room and the sunlight blinds me for a few seconds. I start down the stairs towards the kitchen. I pick up my long grey hair in a ponytail and let escape a long yawn.
When I finally arrive in the kitchen, I look out by the window and understand that today is going to be a beautiful day. Unfortunately for me, I'm going to be in a stupid classroom!
"Hey Tess!" Yells my brother to wake me up. He throws me an apple.
"You don't have to scream for God's sake!" I answer, blubbering.
He takes his upper air and tries to imitate me. "You don't have to scream for God's sake...!"
"I don't talk like that!" I reply defensively.
He rolls his eyes and come close to me, smiling. Thomas has always that charming look with which he managed to manipulate everybody, especially our parents. "Good morning little sis" He says of his little soft, comforting voice.
He holds me in his arms and return to the bar. He's always the first to win me a smile in the morning. I take a bite of my delicious green apple while going to sit at the table where the grain is located. I love Thomas, even if he's not my blood brother because i was adopted when i was two years old. In the last 14 years, he's always been there for me... More than our parents who are constantly working. They're never at home so Thomas and I had to learn to fend for ourselves. Without him, I would not be what I am today.
I turn to him. "Kelly and Carl will come eat at home tonight," I say still sleepily.
"No problem. Do they mind eating pizza like last Monday?
"They should recover." I let escape a long sigh as i think about the day to come.
Kelly has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I couldn't imagine my life without her or my two other best friends, David and Carl. We're always the four of us together and our friendship is probably the strongest thing on Earth. .
