Chapter 6 -Reunion-

Aeris, Terra, Aqua, Ignis, Metalli, Spiritus, inducet nos in mundo.

The room plunged in darkness, the circle of illuminated colours and the sensation of emptiness was already somewhat familiar. Like last Saturday, we arrive in this huge luxurious building where most people seem to know us. I place myself between Kelly and David when the woman with the tight little bun and the documents come to welcome us.

Hello everybody! I will go warn Mr. Faceless of your arrival and reserve your table for 11!

Thank you, David mumbles, avoiding her gaze.

You can go to your personal occupations; I shall send you someone at 17 oclock.

Its the second time that I come here, but I cant accept the truth. The one where Im a daughter of an element and where portals exist. David mechanically grabs my hand to drag me with him, but Chris comes to block our way.

Where are you going like that? Chris asks to my best friend.

Im going to make her practice So she wont destroy the room like last time.

I believe that, on the contrary, replies Chris, she should come with me. I have to make her think of something else!

And I, says Jake, approaching us, have to present her Exitium. He gives me a little mischievous smile as if what happened yesterday was just a distant memory. Its that kind of smile that makes me remember his narcissistic and egocentric side. David and Chris exchange a disapproving look.

I am the partner I have the last word on what is mine! I grimace and let out a forced laugh without being able to find words to put on this. As if I was a thing or an object that belonged to him! Despite his mean comment, his little sparkling eyes dictate me to fallow him.

Give me one good reason why I should fallow you?

He becomes serious and mysterious. The Jake that I met, the one that troubled me in every way possible. After a long pause, he whispers in my ear. Because I know that youre crazy about me, princess

I give him a murderous look. How can he be so cheeky and rude? I dont understand why Britney fell for his little stupid game. And I dont understand why hes different when were with people compared to when were just the two of us.

Ill go, I say, but just to prove you how much youre wrong. Princess! David stifle a laugh and Chris smiles happily.

Isnt she wonderful? asks Chris, smiling at me.

I turn to Jake and sign him to go forward.

We get out of the building and for the first time since I arrived here, Im completely dazzled by the natural beauty of this planet. The piercing blue sky without clouds and the golden sun over the surroundings. The green grass and the silent and mysterious atmosphere. Some houses of stone and white brick along the plains. A small pale dirt road leads us to the back of the building. In a disorienting splendor, an arena as those of ancient Rome stands before us. I try to remember why we came here but Im too stunned by the beauty of this place. Its the first time since I found out about this life that I tell myself that I would have liked to grow up here. In the silence, the splendor and the power.

We walk slowly towards the big doors before us which opens heavily at out arrival. Jake glance at me from the corner of his eyes but I act as if I dont see him. I wont give him this satisfaction, not today.

Since the first generation of the children of the elements, an animal represents our world. Its colour changes for every element to which he belongs.
