Christmas time on the Enterprise... (1127 words)

---

"Christmas! Christmas is today! Time to open gifts and spread holiday cheer!" Jim beamed with joy while the rest of us were grumbling due to the fact that he had woken us up at three in the morning.

"Are you out of your mind? It's three in the morning..." Bones whined as he let a loud yawn.

"I agree with Mr. McCoy, Captain. Shouldn't we do this a little later in the day?" Spock muttered as he opened the door and turned on the lights to find an abundance of Christmas gifts lying across the floor.

"Isn't it a bit," I pointed out to the captain as we all examined the Christmas decorations, "extravagant?"

"You can never be too classy for Christmas..." Jim smiled as he poured eggnog into 9 glasses and handed each of them to us. Ushering us to where the couches were situated, we sat down after walking down here in the dark and as Jim quoted, 'It's a surprise.'

Scotty sat to my left and Chekov sat to my right; with me sitting the middle. We all sat there silently as we waited for him to start the process of handing out the gifts.

"And our first gift is to Bones! I wonder who got you this..." Jim held out a neatly wrapped and medium-sized box. He handed it to Bones, who was a little skeptic at first, but nonetheless, accepted the gift.

Carefully unwrapping and opening the box, his eyes were met with a box of noise-canceling headphones.

"Who got me this?" He asked out loud as he examined the box and I heard a few giggles coming from Jim's direction.

"It's just in case if Spock starts to drone on and on." He let out a snort, causing Spock to give him a death glare.

"Who's next?" I interrupted as I was pretty sure everyone wanted to get this gift exchange over pretty fast and then go back to sleep.

"Uhm, zhis one's for you, Y/N..." Chekov pointed out to a box that had my name on it and handed it to me. "It's from Mr. Scotty?"

"Thank you, Pavel," I smiled and gave him a quick hug before I turned back to opening the box. As soon as I undid the wrapping paper and opened the box, I was met with a black velvet box that was long and rectangular. I slowly opened it to find a gorgeous silver bracelet with a few charms dangling.

My mind immediately went into shock mode as it was slowly processing that he had gone out of his way to buy such a beautiful yet expensive gift... I turned around to face him and when my eyes met with his twinkling brown eyes, all he did was smile.

"You didn't have to do this, Scotty!" I squeaked out as he carefully took the bracelet out of the box and gently took my wrist in his hand. He held the two ends of the bracelet and clasped it around my wrist, gently kissing it before he let go of it.

---

"And, I got a book filled with knock-knock jokes! Thanks, Spock!" Jim giggled as he skimmed through the book and I swore I saw Bones having a little mini heart-attack. The rest of us laughed at Bones groaning at the poor choice of gift that Spock had given to the captain.

"You're welcome, Captain."  He nodded his head before sticking his tongue out at Bones.

"Jim, I swear to god, if you say any of those jokes to me...I'll give you a hypo." Bones held one out for Jim to see, but he was not bothered by it. "Try me, Kirk."

"Knock-knock." Jim let a big smirk paint upon his face and meanwhile, Bones let out a deep sigh.

"Who's there?"

"Ho! Ho!"

"Ho, ho, who?"

"You know, your Santa impression could use a little work."

Silence filled the room before Bones got up from his seat and went near him with a death grip on the hypo.

"Wait! You haven't heard me play a Christmas song on my brand new guitar that Chekov got me!" Jim held out his brand new guitar out to him and quickly turned to him, "thank you for this amazing gift, by the way, Mr. Chekov."

"No problem sir." He smiled a little bit before turning to Uhura and Sulu and whispered, "I think I just made a huge mistake getting zat for ze keptin..."

As soon as Chekov finished his sentence, Kirk started to sing 'Jingle Bells' in a very off-key voice and started to strum the guitar.

"Alright, I am definitely out of here!" Bones turned around and headed towards the door with the rest of them following him, leaving just me and Scotty in the room alone since Kirk went to catch up with the rest of them to demonstrate his guitar 'skills'.

---

"Scotty, can I ask you a question?" I mumbled as I took a sip of the eggnog and looked up at him.

"Of course, ye can. What can I help you with?" Scotty made eye-contact with me as I set my glass of eggnog down on the table and looked back up at him. "And if it's about the bracelet, I wanted to buy it for you."

"I know...But, why?"

"When I first saw it, it looked very beautiful. Like you."

My head shot up to find a shy smile creeping upon his face. Did he just call me beautiful?

"W-what?" I stammered as I repeated the thought in my mind. He let out a low chuckle and tucked a piece of stray hair behind my ear.

"You're beautiful to me, Y/N." He kissed my forehead and looked at me with something on his mind. "May I?"

Nodding my head, he pressed his lips against mine; kissing them in a gentle yet loving way. It took me a few seconds to kiss them back and it had gone on for a few minutes before we pulled away to catch up on our breaths.

"Ah ha!" Jim walked into the room all of a sudden, "I knew my plan worked!"

"Wait what?" We both looked up at him in a confused manner. "What do you mean your plan worked?"

"The guitar that Chekov got me and the little act between Bones and I were all part of a plan to get you two together! Anywho! I'll be leaving you guys alone. Merry Christmas!"

And just like that, he left the room and we were left alone again.

"Well," Scotty began to say something, "would you like to go out sometime?"
