Luna's P.O.V.

It's been three days now since the incident with the voice. I hadn't heard it again, but sometimes I had severe headaches like it was hiding somewhere in the back of my mind. So, my parents told me that I had to stay home from school. All those days they kept a close eye on me and it freaked me out. Every time I came downstairs to get something to eat or to drink, they asked me how I was doing and that if anything had happened I could always tell them. And today I am finally allowed to go to school.

"So, you're finally allowed to do something without them?" Dylan said. "Yes, I am so glad I can go to school again. I am dying here. I couldn't go to the lake to walk my dog, or go for a run with him." "What the fuck is wrong with them..." "Yeah, I don't know either Dylan." I had decided to call Dylan; I wanted to speak with someone except for my parents and Liam. "But hey, Luna is it okay if I come and pick you up for school today?" "Yes, I don't see why not. I see you soon." "See you." I clicked him away. 'Why is he so eager to walk to school with me? Maybe to see if I'm safe...'  Shadow's  barks bring me back to reality. "What is it buddy?" He runs towards the door and whines a little. "Come on Shadow, stop it!" He begins to bark louder now. "What is wrong with you? Stop it!" He walks to my alarm. I look at the time and now I understand... "Oh shit, it's already 7:15AM! Thanks buddy, I can always count on you." He whips with his tail in response.

When we come downstairs I see that my parents aren't here, but they left a note: "Morning sweetheart, we had to go to a really important meeting so we can't bring you to school. You'll have to go by yourself so be careful. Oh and can you wake Liam before you go, his class starts later but you know Liam will forget. Bye, and have fun at school." "Have fun at school? How old do they think I am? Tomorrow it's my 17th birthday, come on mum and dad.  Whatever, I have to make breakfast, it's already 7:45AM and I don't know what time Dylan is coming." I walk over to the kitchen and begin to make some toast.

It's 8:10AM when I hear the doorbell. That must be Dylan. I run to the door and open it and there I see Dylan's smiling face. "Morning Luna, can I come in?" "Hey, Dylan!" I embrace him in a hug. "Woah, what happened?" "Nothing, I haven't seen you in a long time and I really wanted to hug somebody." "No seriously what happened, you can tell me." "Nothing! I swear!" "Alright then, but we should get going if we want to make it in time." "Yes, but if you can just wait a few more seconds I really need to wake my little brother." "Okay, but hurry up!" I run upstairs to Liam's room and scream that he needs to wake up. He jumps up and falls from his bed in the process. I begin to laugh and he curses. "Hey, watch your language young man!" "Whatever you're not my mum!" "I know but I really have to go to school and Dylan is waiting for me downstairs. Bye, love you." "Love you too sis, oh and be careful." "Ah, thanks lil' brother." I run downstairs to grab my bag and give Shadow a big hug. "When I come back from school we two are going for a long run." Shadow barks from excitement. I walk over to Dylan and close the door. "Okay, I'm ready."

The walk to school normally doesn't take so long but at the moment it feels like we have been walking for hours. We are almost at my favourite park and we decide to walk through it because it is shorter to school. And before I can say it I feel a small wave of pain through my head. 'Not again...'  I groan a little and grab my head. Dylan notices this and his eyes grow wide. "Luna are you okay?" "Y- Yes, I am fine it's just a headache..." 'Should I tell Dylan about the voice? No, he just thinks I am crazy. But he did say that I could tell him anything.' 'Yes, good. Tell your little friend about me. It won't make any difference, he already knows about me. He is also my brother and also yours. We are your family!' "Noo! Stop it! Leave me alone!" "Luna what's wrong?" The pain in my head increased. "D-Dylan, I think I have to tell you something..." "Yes, yes what is it?" I sat down on the ground, Dylan did the same. "Three days a- ago, it was night, I was walking with Shadow to the park, but right before the entrance Shadow began to bark at that alley." I pointed to the alley I just mentioned. "Yes, go on." "Well, he wouldn't stop barking and suddenly there went a wave of pain trough my head. And suddenly it was there, hissing and a voice..." Dylan tensed a little after he heard it. "Anyways, it kept saying that it was my family and that it knew what I am and something about that I"ll find it out very soon..." "Oh shit..." Dylan replied. "Yeah, you can say that." "Well, I- I don't think you should pay much attention to it..." 'He knows it already. He knows what you are and will become!' I tried to block the voice in my mind and focus my attention to Dylan. "I think you're right Dylan. Maybe we should get going or we'll be late for class and then they're going to ask questions." "Yes, you're right. Are you feeling a little better?" I could still feel the presence of the voice in the back of my mind but I didn't want to worry Dylan "Yes, I'm fine. So, what are we waiting for then?" I got to my feet and ran away from Dylan towards the park.

Dylan's P.O.V.

Luna ran ahead of me toward the park and I had a difficult time to catch up with her. Of course she is faster than me, she is, after all, the captain of the track team. But of course that wasn't the only reason she was so fast, I knew why and she doesn't know it, yet. But the fact that someone of my kind was trying so hard to reach out for Luna, could only mean one thing... She is going to transform very soon. "Hey, slowpoke, what's taking you so long? We're going to be late if you keep up that pace." "Yeah, I'm coming." She began to run again and the distance between us increased once again. 'I wonder if she knows it already.' 'No, she doesn't know it, yet.' 'Wait a second! Jacob, you're the one terrorising her?' 'Well, I wouldn't exactly call it terrorising, but yes I am the mysterious voice.' 'You asshole! Why won't you leave her alone?' 'Oh please, don't tell me you haven't felt it already. She is special or should I say a little bit different from us.' 'Yeah, I have felt that. I don't know what it is exactly but sometimes I feel a strong power emerging from her core.' 'Indeed, we have felt that also.'  I was still running and I could see the school building emerging from behind the trees. 'Dylan, I just want to say, keep a close eye on her. I've got a strong feeling her transformation is going to be... intense.' And with that, Jacob was gone.

Luna had already reached the door of the school and was waiting for me. I run as fast I possibly could and when I reached her the first bell rang. "Just in time." She smiled at me, her warm, soothing smile... "Ehm, Dylan why do you keep staring at me?" "Oh sorry, it's eh, it's nothing. It's just, I'm just a little worried about you. Are you sure you're fine?" "Dylan, I told you it is okay." "Alright, if you say so..." "Come on, we should get going." "Yeah..." "Dylan, it's fine really. You're starting to act like my parents." "No way! Shut up you idiot!" I laughed and pushed her aside and ran straight to our class. "Hey, that's not fair!" I heard her coming and she ran right past me.

'Don't worry Luna, I will protect you...'
