Two Faced

Chapter 6

Dylan's P.O.V.

I walked with Luna back home, because I was still worried if something would happen to her. We walked through the park and came to the end of it. I felt that Luna tensed a bit, but I knew Jacob wouldn't bother Luna if I was with her. We walked passed the alley and I could feel she was relieved that she didn't hear the mysterious voice.

We came to her street and she gave me a big goodbye hug. I hugged her back and then she freed herself and turned around to run to her house. I watched her for a little while and then walked to my home. 'I hope Luna is going to be okay tomorrow...'

I entered my home and realised that my parents were gone for five days for business. I threw my backpack on the stairs and walked over to the kitchen. I grabbed a soda and a bag of chips and walked over to the couch. I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. I scrolled through the movies and decided to watch a sci-fi movie. My cat Jonesy decided to join me and jumped on my lap. I scratched his head and looked back at the movie. After half an hour in the movie, my eyes started to get heavy and I fell asleep.

Two hours later I woke up from the ringing of my phone. I picked it up from the table and answered. "Hello, this is Dylan speaking..." "Hello, Dylan it's Miss Roberts, Luna's mother." "Miss Roberts, is something wrong with Luna?" "No, no she's fine. She is already sleeping. No, I called you because I wanted to ask if you'd like to come tomorrow. You know to be there for her in case she transforms..." "Yes, yes, of course! At what time should I come?" "I think the best time you can come is around 9:45 AM, Luna will be still asleep so then you can surprise her if she comes downstairs." "Alright, then I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight ms. Roberts." "Goodnight Dylan." I hung up. "Don't worry Miss Roberts everything is gonna be okay..."

The next day I woke up early to get ready in time. I walked downstairs and made myself some breakfast. I looked for Jonesy but he was already outside, discovering the world or something like that. "I hope Luna's going to be okay today... I know that it's gonna be tuff to explain everything to her, I just hope that she doesn't lose her sanity when she transforms..." I said to myself. I walked over to the living room and turned on the TV and zapped to the news channel. They were talking about a couple of meteors that would hit the earth in two hours and a couple of other things that weren't interesting enough. I was just about to zap the channel away when something interesting caught my ear. The military had found new weapons to fight against Russia. "New weapons? ...  Shit!" I tried to contact Jacob in my mind. 'Jacob!' 'Dylan?! What's wrong did Luna transform?' 'No, it's far worse than that. The military has found new weapons to fight the Russians. And we both know what those weapons are.' 'Shit! Those pesky humans! We need Luna to transform! Then we can free our brothers and sisters and destroy the humans who have hurt us, once and for all!' 'Jacob, what the hell are you talking about? Why are you talking about humans like that? You're a human yourself for god's sake!' 'That doesn't matter! I will do everything it takes to free our brothers and sisters!' And with that, he was gone. I know he will do everything to get Luna on his side. I need to stop Jacob from doing something he'll regret...

Once I made it to Luna's house, I was worried sick. "Please be okay Luna..." I whispered to myself. I knocked on the door and her mother opened. "Hello, Dylan! Come in, come in. Luna is still asleep but we're gonna wake her in five minutes." "Okay" was everything I could say. I walked with her inside and she said that they were going to wake her. I waited by the stairs for Luna to come down. They all walked upstairs and then I heard them screaming 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' to Luna. I could almost hear here groan. It took Luna at least 15 minutes to come downstairs. And when she did I embraced her in a big hug. "Happy Birthday Luna. "Thanks, Dylan. I didn't know you could come, I thought you had to work?" "Yes I had to, but I wanted to be here, for you." I could see she blushed a little at my response. "Luna, we made you breakfast." Her mum breaks the silence. 'Why does she always do that?'
"Thank you, mum." She answers. "Oh and I want to apologise for last night, I shouldn't have said those things." Tears started to well up in her eyes. "Luna, are you okay?" I ask. She runs to her parents and hugs them. "I am so sorry!" "It's okay Luna. Today it's your day and we just forget about yesterday, deal?" "Deal." 'I don't know if she can be free without her parents. She loves them too much, but she can't be with them forever. She's destined to become something powerful... "Can Dylan eat with us?" Luna wakes me from my thoughts. "Of course! Dylan, you can sit next to Luna." 'Now I'm the one blushing...' I only nod in response.
