Chapter 6

A/N I changed last chapters 1 month later thing to 1 year later. Just so they are older and freshman in this.
Maya's POV

Riley, lucas, Zay, and I sat at Riley's kitchen table doing our homework.

"This is too much! My brain hurts!" I groan

"Boo hoo" Zay nudges me.

"Hello family" Josh walks through the door.

"My brotha!" Cory comes out from his room.

"My brotha! So I've got some exciting news! Shawns coming up today!"

Corys smile grows. I perk up in my seat.

"Matthews you hear that? Your boyfriend is coming to visit!" I say

"He's not my boyfriend!" Cory says stubbornly

"Mhm" Riley rolls her eyes.

Topanga walks in and Cory rushes over to explain the news. Josh takes this opportunity to walk over and sit next to me.

"Hey Maya," he smiles

"Hi josh"

"What are you guys doing?"

"well we are studying," lucas points to him and Riley "but dumb and dumber are playing tic tac toe, paper football, some box game. Basically anything Other than homework"

"I'll have you know huckleberry. I don't need to study! I just remember stuff when I take tests" I shoot back.

"Mhm" he rolls his eyes.

I reach down into my bag and take out my most recent science test.

"Don't believe me?" I start "look at this" I give him the test that has a big "A+" on it.

"Whatever" lucas huffs.

"And I just don't do work" Zay shrugs

"I missed you" Josh whispers in my ear and I giggle.

I turn in my seat so I am facing him completely.

"I guess I missed you too" I shrug.

He shoves me.

"Hey!" I laugh.

"You totally missed me!"

"Yeah yeah sure. Whatever you say."

"So you're gonna be a sophomore next year?" Josh asks

"Yeah," I nod my head "and you're gonna be a sophomore too!"

"Yeah I am." He puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him.

"I'm glad we're taking things slow now. I want this to be right." Josh whispers in my ear.

I smile real big.

"I do too."

He kisses my cheek, and then buries his face in my neck.

"I'm surrounded!" Zay whines.

I look over and see Lucas with his arms around Riley and she had her head on his shoulder.

I stick my tongue out at him.

"Oh no poor baby" I say sarcastically.

"I came here to study not be all alone and single." He whines

"You came here so you and Maya could screw around some more with each other and see what else you could get into trouble doing," lucas laughs

"Ranger Rick has got a point." I say
