New Years (Joshaya)

Chapter 14

Josh searched Mayas eyes for any sign of emotion, but he couldn't find anything. He face was completely blank.

"Maya I'm so sorry, I wasn't thinking. I was angry, angry with myself for letting you go and angry with you. I needed a distraction and she was just there. I know it shouldn't have happened and it's killing me that I let it happen. I should've gonna straight to your house after I heard Riley say you left school early. I should've been there for you and I'm sorry I fucked it up. I'm sorry I fucked us up. Please Maya say something I feel so guilty and like such an asshole. Please say something," Josh pleaded

Maya let a tear slip out of her eye and it was like a punch in the gut for Josh.

She was angry with him that he didn't even realize what she said to him when they fought. She told him she loves him and he brushed it off.

She was angry with herself, that she started the dumb fight, but she couldn't blame Josh for what he did, she couldn't hold it against him. She loves him. She could see how much he regretted his decision and how guilty he felt.

"You didn't even realize what I said to you during our fight Josh," Maya whispers

"What?" Josh was confused, what did their fight have to do with what Josh just confessed to her.

Maya got up from Joshs lap and started pacing around.

"Maya breath, babe I'm sorry about missy-"

"This isn't about missy!" Maya yells "this is about me telling you that I love you and you brushed it off as if you're use to every girl telling you they love you!" Maya yells at him.

Josh was speechless he thought back to their fight. Then it hit him.

"Josh I love you I really do but I don't need you around me 24/7!"

Josh smiled, no he had one of his boyish grins on his face that Maya loved.

"Josh this isn't a joke, this isn't funny. You completely brushed me off. That was my first time telling someone other than my friends that I love them. This was my first time telling someone that I love them romantically! God you're such an asshole I-"

Josh cut Mayas cute rant off by smashing his lips to hers. Maya fought Josh at first but melted into the kiss. Josh kept firm arms around her waist pulling her close to him. Maya wrapped her arms around his neck deepening the kiss.

Maya pulled away from the kiss and hit his chest.

"You can't just cut me off by kissing me and expect everything to be okay!"

Josh let out a laugh.

Maya struggled to get away from Joshs grip but he pulled her even close which caused her to yelp.

"Maya calm down"

"No! I will not calm down Josh! You're being an-"

"An ass? I know" Josh cut her off again. "But this asshole is in love with you"

Maya stopped struggling and looked up at him.

"What?"

"Maya I'm in love with you. I love you so much and I have for the longest time. I've been meaning to tell you but whenever I did we always got interrupted. Maya I love the way you crinkle your nose when you sarcastically say 'oh yeah' and they way you could throw your hair up into a bun, take all your makeup off, and out on baggy clothes and you still look so flawless to me. I love the way you hate wearing your reading glasses in front of me but I think you look so adorable. I love everything about you. I remember telling you how much I liked you and I said I liked you so much that is scared me. Well Maya, this, us what we have being in love with you, doesn't scare me. I'm not afraid to love you and let the whole world know that I am in love with Maya Penelope Hart."

Maya couldn't help but blush at everything he said. He loved her back.

She smiled up at him and he grinned back. Josh loosened his grip around Mayas waist, praying she wouldn't run away. And when she didn't he felt relief wash over him.

"Stay with me tonight," Josh whispered to her putting his forehead on hers.

Maya nodded her head.

"Of course"

The needed each other. They needed to experience each other, to feel each other. To love each other.

And that's what they did. Josh made sure she was ready he didn't want to pressure her and after she reassured him for the hundredth time, he showed her how much he loved her.

They both forgot about missy and whatever problem she could've caused between them. They were with each other and they were happy.

Okay so I had to go back to like chapter 9 to change it up bc they said they loved each other then (I completely forgot about that scene) so I switched it up to them saying how much they liked each other and how much it scared them that they liked each other. So this chapter could be the big declaration of love. So if there was any confusion I'm sorry and I fixed it so this could be where they said I love you.
