Author's POV

"Don't please.. don't... " saying this nandini started moving her head vigorously, sweating and breathing heavily.

Manik was sleeping in the same position, holding her hand. Feeling her hands moving, he opened his eyes and saw nandini. He got tensed and worried seeing her like this.

"Princess" he tried waking her up but nandini was not in a proper state to respond or hear his pleads.

"No.. no go away... stay away from me... please... " nandini started crying with her eyes closed, frowns on her forehead were clearly visible and negatively moving her head.

A lone tear escaped Manik's eyes seeing his love like this.

"Nandini please wake up. See your boyfriend is here. Please."

After lots of tries and unable to wake her up. Manik cupped her face and kissed her forehead, pressing his lips hard to her forehead and stayed like that.

In no time Nandini calmed down.

"Manik" she whispered.

"Nandini I am here with you princess." saying this her joined their foreheads together.

Feeling Manik's touch, Nandini hands went up to manik's hair and pulled him with his hair close to her, pressing his forehead more to hers trying to tell Manik about the pain she had gone though. Trying to get over the pain. Trying to forget 8 years of darkness from her life, telling manik to make her forget it and most importantly to ensure manik's presence.

"Princess open ylur eyes. See its only me. No one is here."

Nandini opened her eyes and saw manik smiling at her lovingly. She smiled back a little.

Manik tried getting up but nandini didn't allow him and pulled him back on her. She nodded her head negatively with a pout on her face. Manik chuckled at her reaction and gave a quick kiss on her nose.

"Mein kahi nahi jaa raha hu princess. See." saying this manik lay down next to nandini.

"manik... wohh.. doc...ttor" she said stammering, scanning the whole room.

"Doctor nahi hai. He went away." he said smilingly.

Nandini's face lit up.

"Sachhi"

Manik nodded.

"How can princess boyfriend go against princess will huh. You don't like doctors nah so I send him far away. Now is my princess happy."

"Yes. Very happy. Yeyye." saying this nandini jumped on manik putting her complete weight on him. Thanking him a thousand times for sending the doctor way.

"Now I know boyfriend no one will harm me because you are there with me. You will send them away just like you send this doctor away. You will send everyone away nah whoever will harm me or take me way from you" she asked looking into his eyes

Nandini had a different spark in her eyes when she was saying all this which manik noticed and he knew she had started trusting him to protect her from this cruel world, never send her back to the darkness.

"I promise princess. I will always be there with you, protect you, save you from all the cruel people who have hurt you." manik said all this caressing her cheek but at the end he broke down remembering doctor uncles words about Nandini which he had said few minutes back.

He switched there positions. Now manik was on top of nandini as nandini was lying below him.

"I am sorry princess. I am so sorry. I could not protect you all these years. You had to go through so much. I am sorry for not being there for you, with you when u suffered so much." saying this tears started rolling down his cheek, he started kissing her all over her face.

Nandini was also crying but for the first time she was crying with a smile on her face. She was overwhelmed by manik's confession who understood her pain, her sufferings who wanted to protect her from all evils.

She was experiencing a feeling which she could not describe when manik started kissing her all over her face, ensuring her to never leave her alone, to always be with her no matter what. He wanted her to share her pain. He didn't want her to suffer alone. He also wanted to suffer with her.

She just hugged manik tightly, still having a smile on her face.

Manik hugged her back putting his whole weight on her.
