Rydel's POV
"Rydel?" Ryland said as he walked off the bus. I froze. Ellington's hands were still on my waist. I quickly brushed them away.
"Ry, I can explain." I scrambled to find the words for an excuse.
"It's not what you think." Ellington added. He looked just as worried as I did. Ryland raised his eyebrows and continued to stare at us. I prayed that he wouldn't turn around and tell the others. Now wasn't the time to tell them. It wasn't even the time to tell Ryland. Before me or Ell could say anything else, Ryland turned towards the storage under the bus and opened it. I was surprised.
"Please don't tell anyone, Ryland." I begged.
"Tell anyone what?" He paused. He turned from his kneeling position on the sidewalk and looked at me. He smiled.
"Thank you, Ryland. You have no idea how much this means to me. I'll explain it all later." I threw my arms around him.
A few minutes later, everyone else came off the bus. We were on our way to one of what seemed like a thousand interviews of the day. This one in particular was for some magazine. Typical New York City meant we'd have to walk the entire 4 blocks to the office where we'd be interviewed. I didn't mind though. Sure my shoes would be killing my feet and I'd be tired by the time we were halfway there, but I got to spend time with Ellington, and that's all I really cared about. By the time we made it to the magazines office, they started the interview within minutes. They were the usual questions for the most part, but one question in particular got me.
"How many of you are single?" The interwiewer asked. She looked like she was about my age, but a lot shorter and what I thought was cuter than I was. The second I heard the words come out of her mouth I had no idea what to say. I tried to look at Ellington as discreetly as I could, he gave me a look that told me to calm down. Ross pointed to himself and Riker.
"Me and Ellington." I blurted out. I wanted to slap myself. How much more obvious could I have been? I looked over at Ellington for reassurance. There was a secret smile on his face and he was laughing to himself.
When the interview was over, we left the magazine's office in a hurry. We had four more interviews to get to that would hopefully be a whole lot less embarassing than this one had been. I searched for Ellington as we walked out the building's front door. The second he saw me, he smiled and started laughing.
"Calm down." He said to me through giggles. "They're oblivious to it." He put his arm around me and pulled me in for a reassuring hug. Everytime he touched me I got chills.
"How cute! Look at this happy couple!" Rocky said when he turned around and saw us. Ellington made one of his signatures faces and pulled me in even tighter. I giggled. If only they knew we were a couple.
