Chapter Twelve
✯
Bonnie and I were basically freaking out as we raced against time, offering a sense of Marty McFly.
It's been weeks since Damon was stabbed with the Phoenix stone, and we have to get him out before the stone takes over, changing him forever.
Now, you're probably wondering, 'What about Stefan?'
Don't worry, we already got Stefan out. He was pretty simple. Damon, on the other hand, will do anything to avoid the kind of pain thrown at you by the Phoenix stone. We all know how much Damon holds onto events that happened in the past, where as Stefan seems to move on, or at least try to. Stefan submitted to the evil and suffering that was thrown his way inside the stone, making it fairly easy to reunite his soul with his body. He told me, and only me, that his personal hell consisted of him and his brother. He basically had to move on without Damon. I don't know how he did it. I know I've a really hard time fully moving on without Elena or Jeremy.
Anyhow, Bonnie had to lead me through the process of saving the Salvatore brothers step-by-step, since I still technically don't know that complex magic.
I know, I'm one of the strongest supernatural beings, and yet, I still barely know what I'm doing. It makes me less threatening, which definitely isn't a good thing.
Damon took in a breath as his eyes shot open, causing Bonnie and I to exchange a look as we each held one of his hands.
"No, no.." Damon panted, "No, we weren't done. I gotta get her back-" he rambled, sitting upright before he swiftly got off the table.
"Hey, it's me, it's me. You're safe." Stefan reassured, as he made his way over to Damon, who was now standing in front of the table with wide-eyes. "It's okay. It's okay.."
"No- No. One more time. One more time. Send me back." Damon repeated. "I know what do to now. Send me back."
Damon looked back at Bonnie and I.
"Damon, it's not real." Stefan continued, gaining his brother's attention once more.
"I know it's not real. None of this is real!" Damon growled, snapping Stefan's arm before he twisted his neck, causing him to unconsciously collapse to the floor.
"Damon!" I shouted, standing up from my spot as everyone quickly became alert of what was happening.
Damon thinks he's still in hell.
He kicked Bonnie's chair into the fireplace, ripping one of the legs off, using it to stab Caroline above the chest, causing her to grunt in pain as she fell to the floor.
"Damon-" Matt started, racing towards him, only to be sliced across the neck by another chair-leg.
Matt fell to the floor, and my eyes skimmed the bodies surrounding me.
"Damon wait- stop!" I shouted, before he grabbed a fire-poker, shoving Bonnie up against a wall, crushing her throat.
"Damon-" Bonnie choked,
"I have to get back to her." Damon breathed with watery eyes before Bonnie lost her ability to take in oxygen, and slid down the wall.
"Bonnie!" I screamed, attempting to race over to her until Damon vamp-sped me up against the fire-place.
"This isn't real. I gotta get her back." Damon grumbled, keeping his hands around my throat as I gasped for air.
"Damon stop- stop it's real. Okay? This is real." I gasped, slowly losing the ability to breathe.
