Chapter Twenty-Four
✯
I was sound asleep on the couch in the cabin with the fireplace crackling, until a blanket was thrown over me, and I took in Enzo's scent."You came back."
"When have I not?" he erupted, causing me to lightly smile, before he sighed.
"Hey.." I noticed the look on his face, moving from my position so I could sit upright in a ball, nestling my head in his shoulder. "Don't be sad."
"I've decided that I'm not gonna be sad." I smiled, as he rubbed my shoulder with his thumb. "I'm not gonna think about all the things we never got the chance to do together, or the places we didn't get to see. I'm gonna be happy. I'm gonna think about all the things we did do together."
"What, like all the excitement and adventure I provided you within the confines of these four walls?" Enzo's voice broke, causing me to turn and face him.
"You know, it worked for Beauty and the Beast." I shot him a smile, while he brushed a strand of hair out of my face.
"Please. You were never that beastly." he chuckled, as a tear streamed down my cheek, and he continued stroking my hair.
I leaned closer and our lips touched, moving in sync together, before we pulled apart.
Rayna suddenly burst through the cabin door, allowing the wood she had collected to fall to the floor as she raced over to the fireplace. She let out a grunt before she began crumpling specific papers, tossing them all into the fire.
"Rayna?" I questioned, "Rayna, what's happening."
"Killing." Rayna breathed, almost smiling.
"Rayna.." I cautioned, as she continued tossing names into the fire, taking pauses to keep up with her visions.
"They're killing them." she lightly joyed.

Bonnie finally got back to the cabin, after receiving more intel from Virginia, she decided to do some research.
She found all the information she could on the vault, even though there wasn't that much, and shared it with me. The two of us promised each other, and Virginia, that we wouldn't open the vault. Now, I never break my promises, so I need to know what's inside the vault.
Bonnie got back just in time, though, because Damon showed up shortly after. He explained to us that the only reason all of those names were disappearing, was because he made a deal with the Armory. He claimed that in return for their help in killing every name off Rayna's list, I would open their vault.
"Just when I thought you were worthy of forgiveness, you do this." I spat, wrapped in a blanket as I stood beside Enzo and Bonnie.
"What'd you expect? I was just gonna let you die?" Damon defended.
"I would rather that than be forced to open that vault." I assured, shaking my head. "We barely know what's actually inside, Damon. And the little information that we do have on it, surely isn't good."
"What happened to the new Cassidy? The one that's not so eager to just sacrifice herself?" Damon continued, before his eyes fell on Bonnie. "Come on, BonBon. I have a shaman ready to make you the proud new owner of Rayna's last life. All you have to do is convince Cassidy to open the stupid vault for Alex, and she's healed, and you're both done."
"Alex can't be trusted." Bonnie argued.
"Stop being so dramatic. She just wants her sister back." Damon's eyes narrowed as he motioned to the side.
