CH 37 SQUIRREL-ON-ME

That video song has nothing to do with the chapter but I love the song and it's always playing in the background whenever I write

I walked in to spot Stacy and Nathan, the manager, sorting out the table arrangements.

"Hey, Nathan, can I speak to you?" I asked him
"Rach, when does this question by you answered in no work? You're gonna speak anyway" he chuckled
"Yeah, it's probably impossible to stop Rach's mouth. But I have seen a quite Rach for a few days lately" Stacy joined it
"What is it, Rach? You look nervous" Nathan read my feeling
"I wanna quit" I said looking closely at him for his reaction
"What!...?" He first showed shocked then confused "Why?"
"I... personal reasons" I shrugged
"Rach, what happened?" Stacy "did something go wrong? Did we do wrong? What is the matter?"
"Nah, it's just that I got a job elsewhere" I smiled at them
"Really?" Stacy asked, not believing me
"Yep" I answered
"Okay, I guess it's your decision. I can't say anything" Nathan said " come into my office for the paperwork and sorting official matters after your shift"
"Okay" I nodded and got to work.

After getting my shift done I walked in to his office and got everything settled. Now, I was jobless.I walked out to see Ashton waiting there for me.
"You are lucky I didn't have a meeting now" he said as I got inside the car

"Hello to you too, my new boss" I teased
"So, you really quit?" He asked as he fixed half of his attention on driving and half on the great: me!
"Yep, that is why I said 'new boss'." I said
We reached my home just in half a minute after that because he was driving with a high speed. I got out of the car and he did too.

"Where are you coming?" I asked
"Oh, just to one of my friend's house how called me in for lunch tonight unlike my girlfriend" he said as I took out my keys and opened the door
"Well, this girlfriend of yours had thought of giving you a kiss but since you think your friend is better then me then you can take that from your friend" I walked in my house leaving a mouth opening Ashton to stand with the door.
I won't be surprised if I turn and see them making out because it's been long Ashton is standing with it.

"You wanna come in or not?" I asked him
The next second he was next to me.
"Why wouldn't I come in?" He asked
"Hi, Ashton" Ronald came and gave him a bro hug - that's what it's called I guess.
It looks like they are feeling so awkward while hugging that it makes me laugh so hard. And that is what I did next which caught the attention of both the dinosaur length men in the room.
Getting a grip on my laughter I asked out loud a question I was wondering as soon as I got into my favorite place, home, "where is mom?"
"She has some important work and she'll come really late tonight. I have some work too. Are you free tonight Ashton?" Ronald answered then turned to Ashton and asked.

"Yeah, I can-"
"I don't need a babysitter!" I exclaimed, irritated, cutting Ashton's words
"But you are gonna be under my eyes tonight sweetheart" Ashton said
"No, I am not!" I said in a 'and-that's-final' tone
"Whatever you both so it's your choice but be safe! I am going. Bye." He walked to door
"You, mister, are going out of my house" I put a finger on his chest
"What makes you think that?" He asked, putting his arm around the back of my stomach area and pulling me forward
"I have some work, Ashton, and you can't be there while I break..." I break it to Sam about me being in relationship "do it" I said
I had to call Sam and tell him everything and I didn't want Ashton to hear that.
"I am not going" he said

"You are! Please, Ashton, you are a distraction that I love and can't ignore! I won't be able to do what I want to do! Go!" I said then I realised what I said and my cheeks grew tomatoes.
He raised his eyebrows.
The tomatoes grew even more darker then they were.
He ducked his head and whispered "Oh, the things I wanna do to you. You won't be able to walk for days"
"You wanna break my leg?" I shouted at him
"What? Why would I do that?" He asked
"That would be how I won't be able to walk for days" I said

He laughed a little before sliding his hands up to my face. His touch felt like... squirrels running. Do they even run on human body. Nah, I don't think so because they are shy animals. But wait! They say it was like butterfly in my stomach and that is something not possible so I can say squirrels running on me. Ahh! This is why English, literature, books are not my thing! Half of it don't make any sense.
I was pulled out of my world by Ashton's laughter.

"Really? Squirrels?" He said between his laughter then said something that I hadn't thought about yet, "Books are a good way of escaping the real world. If you wanna take break from who you are, read a book, be the character you want to be for time being. If you want things to make sense, if you want truth then why read a book. Be in the world. That is why I love friction. It makes you forget all the stress. I hate real stories or sad stories. The reason why we read books is mostly because we wanna escape this horrible world and what it's the use of it if the story is sad?" He said
I learnt something new about Ashton.
