Yvette

Amari left to get movies half an hour ago, what was taking him so long?

Amari

I waited until Tony and the other man got into the elevator and were out of sight. God, what was I going to do now? I couldn't let him see me, at least not until I had a plan.

Yvette was probably going to wonder what the hell took me so long. What was I suppose to say? I could tell her the truth, but that would mean everything. If she knew what type of nigga I was she'd run for the hills. Fuck. For the sake of both our safety I would have to try.

"Amari what took you so long? The food got here before you!"

"Sorry ma, I had an unpected set back."

"What happened? Was the machine not working?"

"Nothing like that. Look Yvette, I need to talk to you."

"What's wrong...?"

" My moms ex boyfriend Tony is here."

"What's so bad about that?"

"He's supposed to be dead... I thought I killed him."

She backed away from me.

"Yvette hear me out. Tony used to beat on my mom all the time. He would use all her money to buy alcohol and drugs. He'd leave for hours and comes back fucked up. That mothafucka used to threaten to kill her if she ever left him so I had no choice. I had to deal in order to keep a roof over our heads. I was the top drug dealer in Chicago and I was running shit. I handed my business over to my nigga before I left and that was that. I had to kill him Yvette. He would've came after my mom. That's exactly what I'm afraid of now..."

"I-I'm so sorry Amari. I didn't know it was like that. How is he still alive?"

"I don't know. Now that I know he's alive I know he's going to come looking for us. I can't let him back in my moms life. We moved to get away from everything we left behind. Well, almost everything..."

"Almost everything?"

"I took up dealing as a way to help out my mom, but I fell too deep into the lifestyle. I want it back. You  know who Rocky is right?"

"Yeah, he's the biggest dealer in LA."

"I want to take over his business Yvette. I want it to be mine."

"Amari... You could get yourself killed. I don't know what to say about that, but we need a plan to keep Tony away from your mom."

"Once your at the top you don't need to worry. Yvette, if we work together we can have everything we ever dreamed of. I want to be living a good life. I don't want my mom in the projects anymore. As for Tony, we can't let him see us for the rest of this trip. Once we get home I'll keep an eye out to make sure he doesn't come to LA. If he does, I'll kill him.

"I don't think I could any of that stuff Amari. It's not me."

"Give it a chance Yvette. Do you trust me?"

"Y-Yes. I do."

"Then just trust me on this okay? Nothing bad will happen to you. It's not going to be sweet all the time but you'll get into it. I promise."

"Okay. I'm in."

I smiled at her, If I was going to be the king of LA, I was going to need a queen, and that was Yvette.

Yvette

After we talked Amari and I finally ate and watched our movies. I couldn't believe what I was getting into. I never thought I would ever be involved in any type of deal, hustling, or whatever. I admit, it was intriguing, but could I really pull it off?

When the movie ended we went to bed. Tomorrow we were planning on going sight seeing and thenn going out for a nice dinner. It was going to bed a long day, but a good one at that.

I looked over at Amari. This nigga was snoring so loud! I laughed a little. I never knew Amari had that type of lifestyle before. I didn't understand why he still wanted it. I suppose it was just a part of him now. I laid in bed caught up in my thoughts until eventually I drifted off to sleep.

Short chapter, but the next one will be much longer I promise!

Next chapter is going to be private so you'll have to follow to read on :)
