Amari

I couldn’t keep my eyes off Yvette. I didn’t think she’d actually kill that nigga. She seemed so calm, as if it wasn’t bothering one bit. I couldn’t deny that I was feeling even more attracted to her at that moment. She sat in the corner of the room on one of the now empty chairs. Rocky and I were handling clean up. We made sure that there was no evidence that could eventually trace the murders back to us. Once the area was to our satisfaction I nodded at Yvette to let her know it was time to go. She got up and walked along side of me, not saying a word.

“Yvette…” I began to say.

She looked up at me. Still her face was calm, not the least bit of worry could be detected.

“Are you feeling okay ma?” I asked her.

She laughed.

“Amari, you seem more shook up over what just happened than I do.” She said.

“It’s just that…”

“Yes, I realize that I just killed someone. What’s the big deal? You’ve done it before, and clearly Rocky has too. You wanted me to be down with all this, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.”

I blankly starred at her, saying nothing.

“You want to know something?” She asked.

Before I could even respond she answered anyway.

“I liked it. God damn it Amari, I’ve never felt so in control and powerful. Part of me knows this is all wrong, but the other part doesn’t seem to care.”

I couldn’t help but smile at her.

“I know your ass is happy.” She said with a smirk.

“I am. You want to know something?” I said mimicking what she had just done to me.

Yvette opened her mouth to answer, but I cut her off before she had the chance.

“You were looking sexy as hell when you clapped that mothafucka.”

She rolled her eyes.

“I mean it. The way you were just sitting there after with ya legs crossed, looking so calm.  You had a nigga feeling all types of ways.”

“Is that so?” Yvette said stepping closer to me.

I slid my hands around her waist, bringing her right up against my chest. She wrapped her arms around my neck to follow. I could see she was blushing; she always got nervous whenever I got close like this. I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers. She parted her lips, giving me full access to her pouty lips. As she returned my kiss, her hands moved down to my chest, where she gained a tight grip on my shirt. I followed my slipping my hands down to her ass.

Our heated moment came to sudden stop when a loud car horn startled the both of us.

“What the fuck.” I gritted through my teeth.

We turned our heads to the partially boarded window beside us.

“What the fuck are y’all doing?” Rocky yelled out. “Y’all can fuck later; right now we need to go!”

I turned to Yvette whose cheeks were now bright terracotta. I guess she was blushing again. I locked my hand with hers and continued out of the building to the back where Rocky was parked. We both got in the car, Yvette in the backseat and I was in the front.

“We dropping the lady off or is she coming back with us?” Rocky asked.

“It’s getting late, could you drop me home please?” Yvette asked.

Rocky nodded as I told him the address.

“Rich bitch aren’t ya?” He snickered.

“Excuse me?!” Yvette said, raising her voice. “Who the fuck do you think you’re calling a bitch?!”

“Relax girl, I’m kidding. After today you got my respect. I see that you’re down for ya man and down for my business.”

Yvette mumbled something but neither of us could make out what it was. I laughed a little under my breath. It was nice to see my girl had a little attitude. The rest of the ride was good. Everyone was making jokes and laughing. We were all rapping along with NWA’s Fuck the Police. I was shocked that Yvette knew every word to the song.  Then again, she was full of surprises today.

When we pulled up to her condo complex, we said our goodbyes and I told Yvette I’d call her later on when I got home. I watched her walk until she disappeared into the building and the car sped off.

 Yvette

As the elevator opened to my floor, I stepped out and walked to my door. It was almost midnight and I hadn’t gotten a single call or text from my mom or dad. It was a little out of their character but I guess they were finally starting to trust me with my whereabouts and not be so paranoid of something happening to me.

I reached into my pocket and got out my cheetah print keys. As I went to unlock the door I noticed it was already open. I got an eerie feeling in the pit of my stomach. Why would they leave the door open like this? We lived in a good neighbourhood and there wasn’t much to worry about, but still I felt unsettled. I took a deep breath and nudged the door open. The place was pitch dark. Did they go to bed already? I thought to myself. This wasn’t normal for my parents. They also stayed awake until I was home safe.

I felt around for the light switch, hoping to see if someone had maybe fallen asleep on the sofa. When I flicked the switch I wasn’t prepared for the sight that lay before me. I let out a piercing scream that echoed throughout the suite. There on the sofa my mother and father lay dead. Their clothes soaked with their own deep reed blood. The sofas were tinted red and a pool of gore had collected on the floor around them. I hesitantly stepped closer, wanting to get a better look. My mom had a bullet hole directly over her heart; my father had one going directly through his head. I hadn’t yet shed a tear, but after seeing them up close I immediately broke down. I hugged onto their lifeless bodies, my clothes becoming saturated in their blood.

After what seemed like hours, I released myself from my deceased parents. I grabbed my towels from my room and went into the bathroom for a hot shower. What was I going to do? I had no family nearby, and I couldn’t take care of myself. I turned the water on and allowed myself to be drenched in its heat. I couldn’t understand. Who could have done this to them? My parents were respectable people. They didn’t have problems with anybody, at least, no one that would’ve taken things this far. Not to mention those shots were too precise. My mind suddenly took a new direction. Those shots were directly where they would kill upon impact. They each had only one wound. Whoever the bastard was that did this had to be an expert shooter. My tears stopped and my body tensed with anger. I had to call Amari. He’d know what to do. There’s no way in hell this person was going to get away with this. We’d find them, and when we did, I’d kill them.

 Tony

I sipped my rum and coke with the ultimate satisfaction. That lil nigga Amari thought he’d escape me, he thought wrong. I came back to Los Angeles soon after my encounter with him and his girl, I mean, Yvette. That’s right, I know her name.  I know everything about her. Amari’s sly, he knows the game, and he’d be harder to go after. But this girl seems to be of use to me. If I can’t get that mothafucka directly, then I’ll do it through everyone he loves. Every friend, family member, you name it. I paid the bitch’s parents a little visit earlier. Nice people, nice home. What a fuckin’ shame I had to kill them. I’m sure she’ll be calling Amari any minute now. Once he sees them he’ll know it was me. Ha, I’m back mothafucka.
