Yvette

Amari and I had made it back to the car without being noticed or drawing any unwanted attention. X sped off to the safehouse where we switched vehicles and drove back to Amari's apartment. The first thing he did was turn the TV on to the news.

"Now we wait." X said.

It was only a matter of time before someone would notice a disturbance and find the two dead men. Once the story hit the news, Amari and X would be ambushed with texts and calls from other guys under Rocky's operation. As Rocky's partner, Amari would be expected to have answers to all their questions. X would be expected to call a meeting so everything could be sorted out. Without Rocky I knew there would be some big changes coming our way, I just hoped it would all work out for the best.

Hours passed as we sat around the apartment. It was now 4 A.M. and the boys had passed out. I sat, this wide awake. I couldn't stop replaying the whole event in my mind. I didn't feel any remourse for either of them. That bastard Tony had killed my family and hurt Amari's mother. He deserved to die. Rocky was apart his plan and wanted Amari dead. The only way to stop him was by eliminating him completely. As I had now learned, that's just how the game goes.

I  picked up my phone from the coffee table only to see that my flood of messages had grown. I missed my girls, but the last few weeks of my life had changed the course of everything. It was a mess. Until I could figure out how to answer everyone, I would just have to leave it alone.

I leaned back onto Amari who was lightly snoring. Nestling my head into the crook of his neck, I closed my eyes and let my mind draw a blank for the first time in weeks. I hadn't slept properly since the first shooting and I needed any bit of rest I could possibly get.

Amari

Sunlight beaming onto my face caused me to wake up from my much need sleep. As I tried to stretch I realized Yvette was curled up right against me. Her long hair was a curly mess, covering her face. I pushed her hair back and kissed her on the forehead. I carefully moved her body, and laid her down so she could rest on a pillow.

I went to the bathroom to freshen up. Splashing some cold water on my face, I instantly felt more awake. The dark circles under my eyes had a nigga looking like I'd been on drugs for the last ten years or something. That's what life could do to you I guess.

I changed off into black jeans, a white long sleeve, and my gold chain. My braids were fuzzy as hell, which really had me looking rough. I'd take care of that later, my hair wasn't exactly top priority at the moment.

As I attemped to neaten up the mess on my head, I heard the headline I had been waiting for coming from the TV.

"Breaking news! Two men found dead at the Hilton in downtown Los Angeles. More details on this story coming up."

"X! Yvette! Wake up!" I yelled as I ran into the living room.

"Nigga don't you see me sleeping?" X slurred.

"Nigga direct yourself to the screen. This is what we've been waiting for!" I said.

Yvette shuffled around a bit before sitting up.

"What's going on?" She yawned.

"Listen." I said looking back at the both of them who were now fully awake.

"Breaking news! Early this morning a maid at the Hiltons downtown location discovered the murdered bodies of two men. The men have been identified as Tony James and Rocky Williams. It is reported that both men suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. Both seem to be from the same weapon. The reason behind the double murders is still unknown. Police have yet to find any evidence to identify the shooter and are urging anyone who heard or saw anything to come forward."
