XV - The Hidden Truths

Roxas's P.O.V

When we all got together the next day, (F/n) didn't say anything about where she went yesterday the day before. I was kind of worried for her, since she never really runs off like that... at least, usually she tells me what she's up to. She just acted like nothing happened until Hayner brought it up.

"All right, so where was this place you went to yesterday?" he asked her sternly[?]

She turned and blinked at him, "huh? Yesterday..." she thought, scratching the side of her head.

"Yeah, you said you had somewhere to be... where'd ya go?" chimed Olette.

"Oh um... ya know, places..." (F/n) replied hesitantly.

"Oh, c'mon, there's gotta be more meat in it than 'places.' Where exactly?" Pence butt in.

"Aw, guys! My privacy's valuable too, ya know?" she explained, embarrassed from the situation.

"(F/n)..." Olette whined, "We all want to know what you did. It can't be bad, can it?" she added, crossing her arms. She then turned to me, "Right, Roxas?" All eyes turned to me then. I looked down and shuffled my feet shyly.

"Well... I-I mean... it would be nice to know," I implied, looking at (F/n).

She stared at me for a moment and finally sighed in defeat, "Alright, I give up. I went to check out that wonder Pence told me about... the one in the library?" she explained.

"Oh," Pence's head perked up, "really? So? Was it real?" he asked curiously.

She shook her head, "Nope. Total bogus."

Pence looked at her, deflated. "Aw... that's too bad. Why were you so embarrassed to tell us, then?" he asked.

"Well, it's kinda embarrassing talking about something that turned out to be totally fake." she explained.

"Ah, it ain't that bad," Hayner said encouragingly, "happens to all of us."

She smiled at him, "Hey, you know what? That's the first time you were genuinely nice to me, Hayner!" she pointed out all of a sudden. Hayner looked startled as he started blushing.

"That's true! You've always given her sarcastic comments for the time we've known her!" Olette giggled. (F/n) joined in, then Pence, then me, and - eventually - Hayner. I was glad that (F/n) wasn't doing anything to get herself in trouble. After we were done with the giggles, I just stared and smiled at her like a dork.

This dork couldn't help but be in love with this girl.

(F/n)'s P.O.V

The truth is - as you may know - that I lied.

I couldn't just tell them the truth about that x on the wall of the library. That I was able to go through it no less.

What really happened was when I stepped through, I was immediately met with corridors among corridors of white walls. I walked through them all (which took a while) and ended up in this... white room. It surprised me since the only other room I've seen that looks like this is in the mansion. I looked around to see a long table in the middle of the room with piles and piles of papers. Some were titled 'Ansem's Report' or 'Kingdom Hearts Research' all in one area. There were even some regarding a girl named Xion and something called a X-Blade, as well as three people named Terra, Ventus, and Aqua.

I was honestly shocked. I looked around some more only to see that there wasn't much else around except for more files scattered on the ground and a painting of the Kingdom Key on a wall. All of a sudden, I heard footsteps coming from the corridors. I quickly looked for a place to hide and found that there was a hole in the wall behind the painting. I could barely fit inside and got the painting back in place. I looked around the small space, although there wasn't anything to see. The footsteps grew nearer and I could actually hear two people speaking.
