Ryan's POV~

"I'm home!" I called out as I arrived home after school.

I was about to go upstairs when my mother appeared from around the corner. Her dark eyes narrowed as she walked towards me.

"How was school sweetie?" she cooed and kissed my forehead.

"Um good." I took a step back at her odd behavior.

"How good?" she says as she gently pinched my cheeks and grinned.

"Just good," I shrugged not wanting to continue with this conversation.

One thing about my mother is that she never cares about me. She circled around me and finally came out from the shadows. She grabbed both of my shoulders and started to shake me violently.

So much for her sweetness.

"Who are you trying to fool you imbecile?!" she spat.

"N-no one!" I panicked as she slapped me right across the face.

She stood above me as I placed my shaking hands to my sore cheek, for once I could see the anger burn in her eyes.

"Listen sweetie...." she gritted her teeth and tried to hide her anger with a forced smile, "Do you want to know what happened to me today?"

Before I could say anything else, she pulled my arm to my back and hissed in my ear. "While you were off torturing who ever it was, I was in the freaking principal's office talking to Mrs.Trinity about your stupid behavior. And that's not all..." She gritted her teeth and dug her nails deep into my skin, "I got a ticket because of you Ryan!"

"It's not my fault!" I tried protesting. "Couldn't you just I don't know charm your way out of it or something?"

"Who do you take me for?!" she slapped the back of my head. "HUH?! SPEAK WOULD YOU?!"

"You're my mother!" I shouted while wincing in pain. She released me and took a large step back, her eyes never leaving me.

Behind me the front door opened. "Am I interrupting something?" my father rolled his eyes and threw his suitcase to the side.

"Nothing that will concern you Estefano," my mother sneered and pushed me aside. "It's not like you give a damn about us, or about him," she directly pointed to me.

"What did you do now Ryan?" my father exhaled heavily.

"Nothing out of the normal!" I said raising my voice.

"See?" my father glared at my mother shoving her aside. "The kid is screwed already. Now do you mind I have an interview in a few hours." He walked off without even glancing at me.

"See what you did, again?" My mother whirled around to face me. "Now your father is mad at me, can't you do anything right?!"

"That's it!" I threw my bags to the ground and stomped my way upstairs. Once I reached the top I hollered back down at her, "Maybe once you should think of someone other than yourself!"

"Ryan Jonathan Edenfield get your ass down here! I'm not done with you boy!"

Instead of obeying my mother, I slammed the door to my room as hard as I could making the whole house go quiet.

"Valerie calm that child down!" I heard my father yell from downstairs to my mother.

"You know what?!" she yelled. "I'm going out!"

"With who?!" I heard my parents uncontrollable arguments.

"Stop please. Please stop." I cover my ears and slide down to the the floor. I was on the verge of breaking down when I heard my phone vibrate in my pocket.

"Thank goodness." I answer the call in relief. "Sammy you're always in time for the drama.

"Let me guess it's your parents." I heard the light warming laugh of my best friend Samantha.

"Like always." I sighed.

From below I could still hear their arguments.

"None of your business!" my mother yelled.

"Its a lover isn't it!" my father's voice boomed.

"Let go of me Estefano!"

"Help me." I whispered to my phone. "I can't take it anymore."

"Calm down Ryan everything will be okay."

"Okay?!" I hissed. "Nothing is okay with the parents I ended up with."

"Fine I'm going to pick you up."

"Thank you Sammy." I smiled and leaned back against the door.

I heard my mother's car zoom off and downstairs I could hear glass shatter.

Just once I wish they would notice me. Or better yet....give me some peace.

Welcome to my life.

Disastrous parents and the worst boy at school.

Oh what fun.

From the wall a photo frame came crashing to the ground. I tried saving it but it only ended up breaking before me. I started picking up some of the bigger pieces of glass and froze to stare at the picture. My fingers slowly traced the photo of the happy family smiling back.

Is it too much to ask to go back in time?

I narrowed my eyes at the photo and gritted my teeth together.

And yet everyone blames me for everything.

I traced the face of my mother smiling back at me.

She was stunning.

My mother was a beautiful woman.

If only she knew she was my problem at school....
