Ryan's POV~
"What am I doing now?" My hands gripped on the steering wheel as I parked my mom's car in Sammy's driveway. Ever since freshmen year we would always plan for Prom and now that the night has come, we were more distant than ever. I missed my best friend. She was always there for me when I most needed her and here I was, a big jerk to her. As much as I didn't want to leave my best friend, I also didn't want to lose Kendra either. Kendra was someone way different than Sammy. She was the one that made my heart leap and my words stutter. Though deep down I wanted her to come.
I give a glance at Sammy's house.
I didn't even know what the hell I was doing here for. I should be at Kendra's house not here.
"What are you doing Ryan?!" My inner voices hissed. "What was the whole point in killing Cody if you were going to leave Kendra unattended?!"
"I didn't kill Cody." I reminded myself and gripped on the steering wheel making my knuckles turn white.
"Keep telling yourself that..."
My eyes stared at the view mirror only to see myself grinning.
"Gosh have I been drinking or something?" I shake my head to steer the voices away and the hallucinations from my head.
"Keep doing it Ryan...it won't work for much longer..."
"Argh!" I slammed my head against the steering wheel. All of these voices were driving be crazy. I slammed wide open the car's door and stormed out towards Sammy's front door.
"No Ryan no! Turn back you idiot!"
Some inner instinct, other than the annoying voices, was insisting that I must see Sammy. Whatever the reason, I lifted my hand to knock when the door slowly opened for me. My mind went blank when my eyes wandered to a trail of blood leading straight down the hallway.
"S-Sammy?" My voice cracked as I slowly widened the door.
Not a single sound replied back. I took a step only to hear a squish sound. Fresh blood covered the whole bottom of my shoe.
"Sammy!" I called out as fear tightened in my heart. I pushed the door all the way and followed the trail of blood down the hallway until I got to the end.
"Sammy!" I kept calling her name into each room. "Sammy!"
"H-here." I heard her faint voice coming from behind the last door. I opened it only to see Sammy with tears smeared down her face as she was sitting in her bathtub.
"W-what happened?" I asked and quickly got to her side. I embraced her in my arms as she started to sob hysterically on my chest.
"I didn't do it!" She cried while gripping onto my suit. "I-it j-juust h-h-hap-pened."
"What happened." I soothed her hair down trying to calm down her tears. Her crying was making me feel weak and sad. I've never seen her cry before. It hurt to see my best friend cry like this.
"R-Ryan y-you got to h-h-help m-me."
In a blink of an eye, she flew her hand to the faucet and turned the knob. Cold water shot out from it making it fall on top of us.
"Sammy!" I tried getting both of us out but she pulled me down and hugged me like her life depended on it.
"I didn't kill!" She started to cry again.
Kill?
I looked around us until I saw what she was talking about. In the corner of the bathroom there was a man laying dead on the floor.
