Ryan's POV~
"Sammy!" I gasped.
"I'm sorry Ryan."
Her watered eyes stared back at me as she took a small step to the edge.
"Sammy for the love of our friendship don't do it!" I placed a hand to my heavy breathing heart. "Please Sammy can't you see I need you," I pleaded. "Sammy I love you too much for you to go. Don't leave me now."
I remembered I once thought of getting rid of me but suicide wasn't the answer at all.
Just let her go....
I closed my eyes tight as the voices spoke to me. Of course they would be telling me something horrible. I shoved those voices to the back of my head and opened my eyes to see Sammy feet hanging from the edge.
"Sammy please don't do it!" I took a step towards her but she stopped me as she placed a hand of hers out towards me.
"I will do no good for you anyways. It was my fault you were taken to jail, it was my fault my parents killed each other, it was my fault our friendship ended, it was my fault I never believed you. Everything is my fault Ryan. I'm just bad luck." A small breeze wafted her hair as her sad eyes stared back at me.
"You are not bad luck," I stretched out a hand to her. "You have been and forever be the one to be there for me. I was just so obsessed with my problems that I didn't give myself a chance to see what I had in front of me this whole time. Sammy I need you."
"What do you mean?" Her voice cracked.
"That I am not going to let you do something stupid. I love you Sammy and you must not leave me like this."
She gave me weak a smile but soon faltered as the morning light fell upon us.
"The damage has been made."
"But it can be fixed."
"I have no future."
"You can make a new one." I inched closer to her and stretched out further my hand. I was eager to feel her touch on my hand but her hand never came to me. She was giving her back to the city and her eyes to me. One wrong move and she could fall to her death. The thought of that alone ached my heart. I felt so useless that I couldn't help save her in this moment that she needed me. I had so much to do yet so little time.
"Sorry Ryan but I've made my choice."
"I'm not going to let you."
"Take another step towards me and I will jump." She threatened me.
"Then let me jump with you."
By now the sun shone down on us as the back doors were being banged to being open. I placed a wooden plank on the doors and stared back at Sammy. Her eyes were widen full of fear as she tilted her head to one side.
I got to her side and stared down at the busy city below us. I slightly turned my head to her and snatched her hand in mine, intertwining out fingers together.
"Ryan this is my doing." She gritted her teeth as tears spilled from her eyes.
"I'm not going to let you alone." I clenched my jaw bone.
Heck I was dying in fear but I was willing to do anything for Sammy.
"Look Ryan you don't love me. I'm just....just a friend. Or will be that is." She looked down.
"A friend that I truly love. The same reason why I love you. Because you are my friend in everything. Heart, mind, soul, everything."
"You are mistaken me as Kendra." She mumbled. "Or her twin, whatever she is." She scoffed.
