Ryan's POV~
Sammy: dude r u okay?
I looked down on my phone to see a text message in my screen from Sammy.
Ryan: of course not are you?
Sammy: same. Ur freaking mother came to my house to threaten me.
Ryan: What?!
I threw my phone to the corner and ruffled my hair violently. My mother lost all of her marbles and I will never forgive her. I slid down against the door and pulled up my knees to my chest. My best friend was in danger because of me. Everything is my fault. Even if it wasn't, my parents were mine making their flaws mine as well.
My phone started to vibrate for an incoming call but I ignored it. I was in no mood for talking to anyone. I took a heavy sigh and just let my tears slide out.
The things I will do for my parents to change. As the days go by I swear my parents go crazy by the second.
"You still alive?" My father's voice came out from the other side.
"No!" My voice cracked.
"Very well then." I could hear my father's footsteps go down the stairs.
That's it?!
He just asked whether I was alive and just walked off like nothing. This made me hate him more than I already did. I hated them! I stood up and started to pace around the room. The only way out was my window. I ran to the window and looked down. The ladder had fallen making me have second thoughts.
"I have to get away from here." I looked back at the door and then at the window. "Down it is." I build up courage. I got by the window and prayed to the skies for a happy landing. Without thinking more I jumped out from the window like jumping into a swimming pool. My arms flew up and my legs swung back and forth as I flew into the air. My heart tighten as I saw the ground getting closer and closer. I shifted my body so I could land feet first on the ground though instead of landing like that, I ended up tripping making me fall on my side.
"Shit!" Was the first word to come out from my mouth. Quickly pain shot through my left shoulder. I dug my face into the grass trying to contain my yell inside of me. These were the time I actually wish I had a mother to care for my boo-boo's like any normal mother would.
Even so I was a big boy now, I desire for something sweet and simple like that.I kept my tears from falling and slowly rose up, holding on to my injured shoulder. Determination to leave the house made me stronger. The pain slowly eased away and without further ado I ran as fast as I could from my problems before I was caught by either parent of mine.
'Nobody loves you.'
The voices came back to my head as I ran.
'You are tiring everyone out.'
"What is wrong with me?!" I yelled trying to get rid of the voices. Ever since I was little I would get the constant whispering in my head. Sad part they were all from the people who has forever been saying crap to me trying to make me feel less than everyone else.
People in school.
Friends.
Even my parents.
All of their words haunted me turning into little voices in my head.
'Does it look like we care???'
"Just leave me alone!" I yelled.
'Nobody will accept you for who you are freak.'
Tears were anxious to come out. I ran blindly on the concrete path without a clue where to run off to. I sped up my speed and ran for my life. How I needed someone to console me.
As the the little devil inside of me spoke to me, I didn't know my path was blocked.
"Please just l-" I bumped into something and fell flat on my back, interrupting what I was about to say to the little whispers.
"Oh my gosh are you okay?" I felt someone get to my side and lift my head from the ground.
I slowly lifted my head and opened my eyes. They closed back and the little I did catch was two piercing blue eyes.
Two beautiful piercing blue eyes.
******
Beep....beep....beep.
"How are you feeling?" A soft voice spoked.
I groaned from the pain in my head and slowly opened my eyes. My heart skipped a beat when I realized who it was.
"K-Kendra?" I smiled unbelievably.
"Um if you say so." She smiled with a sweet chuckled and held to my hand.
I looked down at our hands and followed a wire attached to my hand. My eyes panicked searching everywhere. A white room, the steady beeping, wires attached to me, and the white sheets on the bed could only mean one thing...
Kendra caught my worries and squeezed gently on my hand.
"I brought you to the hospital." She gave a straight smile. "You bumped into me and fell unconscious. I panicked and brought you here."
"H-here?" Guilt washed over me.
"Don't worry." She smiled. "I got you covered.
That's is what I'm worried about, I thought. I didn't want her to pay for me. Not after it was my fault.
The door to my room opened as a doctor walked in.
"Ah glad you're awake." He smiled. "May I have your name sir?" He pulled out a pen from his pocket getting ready to write on his notebook.
"R-Ryan Ed-Edenfield." My words stuttered.
"Ryan Edenfield?" He looked up at me with a worried expression on.
"Ryan? I like that name." Kendra smiled.
"Edenfield? As in Edenfield? Edenfield..." The doctor trailed off and ran off from the room.
"Okay..." Kendra and I both looked with confused faces to where the doctor was just moments before. "I wonder what happened to him?" Kendra laughed.
"S-sorry about everything." I gave her a sympathetic smile. "Are you okay?"
"Better than you." She joked. "Just a bump on my forehead but I'm okay thanks for asking." She winked at me.
I couldn't help but feel those crazy butterflies eating my insides.
I knew we would meet again.
"Kendra ca-" I was about to say something to her when she placed a finger to my lips.
"Shhh." She hushed me gently. "Call me Regina. You need to rest." She placed a kiss to my forehead and walked off to the door. "See you soon Ryan."
"Regina?" I asked myself that once she was gone.
I don't know what game she was playing or what she was hiding but I know she is Kendra from the party. That I will never forget.
