Norman's POV~
I stormed into my office and threw everything on top of my desk flying across the room.
"Norman what's wrong?!" One of my companions rushed into my office. He locked the door behind him and got to my side as I got on my knees and ran my hair furiously in anger.
"I've had it with her!" I yelled in frustration. "I just can't get rid of her!"
"With who?" He asked kneeling beside me.
"Valerie Edenfield that's who." I got my eyes to him. "Owen she is driving me crazy."
A small smirk spread on Owen's lips.
"I didn't know you had another lady friend." He cocked an eyebrow.
"No fool." I sighed heavily. "Its not good what I'm feeling for Valerie." I got up and slumped in my chair, spinning in it.
"Do you like her?" He asked curiously.
"Owen please get your head out from the gutter." I rolled my eyes in annoyance. He was misunderstanding everything. "Answer me this, Why do you think we went to her house?" I asked him so he could understand.
"Ohhhhh. I'm not stupid you know." He frowned suddenly. "I'm just asking you what do you feel for her? I know she has done bad but I cant help but see something in you whenever you speak of her."
"I feel hate." I layed my head on the desk and covered my head with my arms.
Hate for ever meeting her.
Ever since I met her, she only bought problems into my life. One of them is Elizabeth.
"My own mother has committed murder..."
Ryan's words lingered in my head from his call earlier. At first he sounded scared but when we got there, I couldn't help but picture his last reaction with me. It was as if he was concealing something. His whole attitude changed drastically.
Murder.
The knife Valerie held out to Ryan in the car after the hospital flashed instantly. One thought crossed my mind in that moment. Why was the trial cancelled the day me and Valerie had in court?
"Owen search Leonel Woods." I commanded.
"What for?" He asked.
"Just do it and find out what happened on March 4th." I snapped.
He pulled out his tablet and searched in Leonel Woods.
"It says here... Judge Woods was found dead on March 4th in his own home. Just hours away to go to court for a trial pending, his daughter Suzanne found him blood dead. Family members are now concern of his mysterious death and worries who would have done such cruelty. They found him by the entrance with a slit in his throat but no evidence was found of the suicide/ homicide. Detectives still wonder what was his cause of his death."
Anger burned in me as I realized who actually did it.
"Valerie..." I hissed her name out in disgust.
"Valerie?" Owen's brows got together. "What does she has to do with Judge Wood's death?" He asked. "And sorry for the question but why you made me search Leonel Woods?
"Isn't it obvious?!" I threw my chair to the side and paced around the room while being careful not to rip my hair out. "She killed Leonel Woods. She is out for revenge and now I am to blame for this innocent man's death!" I yelled and banged my fist on the wall.
"Woah man chill okay." Owen pulled my arms away from me and steadied me. "Why would she do it?"
"I gave her a ticket." I mumbled. "And I've turned her into a monster." I looked up at him and slowly walked away from him. "I need to clear this all out for myself." Without thinking twice I ran out from my office and into my car. The yell I had clogged in my throat finally came out. "I WILL KILL YOU VALERIE!"
*****
"Norman?" My mother opened the door for me as I arrived home.
"Hi mum." I mumbled and gave her a small hug and pulled back.
"Sweetie what happened to you?" She caressed my face gently.
"Long day at work." I sighed and tried to smile.
"Well I know what will make you feel better." My mother smiled up at me. "Your girlfriend Elizabeth is waiting for you inside."
"Elizabeth?" I scratched my head. Last time I remembered she was in the asylum.
Yes an asylum.
My heart saddened as I remembered the last time I saw her. She was so fragile and weak when I rescued her and took her to the hospital after the bad experience she went through. Charlie attended her that day and his bad news haunted my dreams. In a few hours she was taken to an asylum where she was diagnosed with trauma. And what from the doctor informed me, she was going insane due to the rape she experienced. Since then I haven't seen her.
A smile crept to my lips knowing Elizabeth must have gotten better.
"Where is she?" I asked.
"She is waiting for you upstairs. Cheer up hun." My mother patted my cheek and stepped aside for me to enter. I entered inside and ran upstairs to my room without waiting for more. She was cured and I was willing to help her right at her side. Guilt washed over me as I realized I should have been with her all this time. Because of Charlie he told me they needed for me to wait for they needed to do studies on her for she couldn't see anyone at the moment. Though knowing she was waiting for me, my heart fluttered just to see her.
"Elizabeth!" I called out her name in excitement as I slammed my bedroom door open.
"Yes?"
I froze in place as my smile faltered as I stared at the woman who wasn't Elizabeth.
"Valerie...."
