Valerie's POV~

The sun rays cut through my curtains waking me up from my sleep. Believe it or not, I can catch a few zzz's before my daily hunt in the fridge. I lazily dragged my tired self to the kitchen and hesitated to even get dressed. Opening the door to the fridge I sigh as the only thing I could drink was artificial blood juice, made especially for vampires like me.

Until I have Norman's blood, this is good enough for me.

"What's that?" A voice spoke behind me.

"Ugh it's you..." I slapped my forehead in exasperation. I turned around annoyed to see Estefano with his arms crossed.

"You didn't sleep with me last night." His face remained straight.

"Why would I have?" I grunted.

"At least you could have told me."

"I slept in the guest room. Besides how many times do I have to tell you that my business only concerns me."

"I'm your husband for crying out loud!" He fisted his hands together.

"Says the drunk man from last night. Now do you mind I need to get ready."

"For what? Work or for your lover?" He stood in front of me.

"Are you jealous?" I pinched his cheek. "I'm tired with the same old thing." I huffed and pushed him aside.

"Valerie I need to tell you something." He followed me inside my room.

"What is it?" I got in the closet and started to change.

"It's about our relationship."

"Is that all?" I popped my head from the closet.

"I want the divorce."

...

"Excuse me?" I got out from the closet. I swear I hoped I heard him wrong.

"Valerie I want the divorce." He kept his eyes locked on mine.

"What the hell for?!"

"I'm fed up with you!" He yelled. "You and your cranberry juice!"

"What cranberry juice?!"

"The ones in the freaking fridge! That's all I've been seeing for the past twenty-six years!"

"You can't do this to me!" I screamed and grasped him by the shirt's collar. "We are meant to be together forever!" I showed him my hand with the marriage ring on.

"Yeah and faithful to each other and be for each other in the good and in the bad. Have you forgotten that?" He gritted his teeth.

"No!" I gasped. "You're the one assuming things!"

"Sorry Valerie but maybe a divorce will do good for the both of us." He placed both of his large hands on my shoulders. "I told you what you wanted and that I was willing to do anything for you. Sadly you crossed my limits. Today I am done with your caprices."

"What about Ryan?!"

I knew it was obvious none of us cared for the boy but I just had to bring him in. I had to convince Estefano to change with his absurd mind.

"We can put him in a foster home or something but I want the divorce."

"Estefano please I'm sorry!"

I hated to beg. I've always have. I believe the begging should be saved for the mortals and to men not me. If anything he should be the one begging for me. For years I had everything I had due to my good charm and hot looks. I've resisted my thirst for so long just to get this?!

A divorce was the last thing I wanted. If a divorce he wanted, a price he will pay.

"Because I love you I will set you free before I do something crazy. Or worse, something I might one day regret."

"Stupid human." I hiss and flipped him off. "If that's what you want...."

"I want it." He grabbed my wrist and closed my fingers into a tight ball. "What happened last night was the last straw."

"I've been the same for years!" I protested. "I don't know why now you decided to be a fool?!"

"Again with the insults!" He ruffled his hair and threw his arms in the air. "Let me be!"

"I'm going but I will be back." I clenched my teeth together and grabbed my purse. "Maybe later you will forget this whole nonsense. Knowing you, you wont be able to live a day without me." I flipped my hair and sashay passed him and walked out the front door.

Anger washed through me.

I wanted to cry but I held my tears back and narrowed my eyes as I felt my eyes slowly turn red in flames.

Deception.

"Idiot!" I inner screamed my lungs out.

I hastened up my pace and got inside my Mini Cooper.

Not only was my morning ruined, but also today was court day for me.

Another stupid human.

"Well Norman Parker I might not have gotten away so easily with Estefano but I know my sweet seduction will get through him. As for you.... I got other tricks up my sleeve."

My phone rung from my purse and I quickly let go of the steering wheel for a few seconds while I searched for my phone.

"What?" I huffed out with annoyance.

"It's me Mrs. Trinity. We need to talk."

"Again?! Didn't we just talked yesterday?!"

"Valerie calm down its about you."

"What about me?!" I yelled over the phone.

"Come to my office as soon as possible and I mean soon."

"Well soon has to wait. If you haven't known by now, yesterday I got a fucking ticket right after I left from your office and now I have to head to the court because I got an unfair ticket so you have to wait. Good day to you!" I hung up the call and tossed my phone to the backseats.

I couldn't have a normal day without having problems right in every corner.

Not only I have to put up with Ryan and Estefano, but now I got a real problem I have to deal with. One way or the other I will not lose in court.
