Mindless Love

12: Ocean City Part 4

I was currently sat in a giant gummy bear that smelled strictly of ball sack, turning in circles so fast that I'm pretty sure the hot dog I had early was gonna come back up in the near furure.

Let me explain. We were all walking through the fairgrounds deciding on which ride we should get on first, when Serena's eyes set on the gummy bear ride. It only held four people, and there was one of those plates you had to manually turn in order to spin faster, right in the middle.

Serena, being a child at heart, wanted to desperately ride it as soon as she saw it. I was damned if I was gonna step onto that shit, but then she gave me the puppy dog eyes, and I just couldn't resist. Leah and Chres, being the dare devils that they are, were already down for anything. No one else wanted to ride it, so it was decided that we would all meet back in this spot in a few hours. The four of us piled into the the blue gummy bear, which Leah insisted that we get on. I said a silent prayer, and then we were off.

As soon as the ride started, Serena and Leah began turning the wheel so fast, that it made me wonder if they were on crack or perhaps steroids. The ride was spinning so fast that everything outside the gummy bear seemed to go by in blurs, and streams of color.

The girls were giggling like idiots, and chres was laughing slightly. I however, was holding on to dear life, praying that my food wouldn't come back up. That would definitely ruin the night.

Finally, the ride began to slow down, much to the girls disapointment. As soon as it stopped, I sprinted off of satan's gummy bear and put as much distance between it and myself that i could. Serena and Leah were giggling, trying to regain their footing being so dizzy. Chres walked towards me with an amused expression.

"Had enough yet Craig?" he asked. I shook my head. "Not yet, I'm getting close though." he laughed, and we watched the girls walking towards us.

"So what's next?" Leah asked excitedly. Serena's eyes lit up. "What about the Cyclone?" she asked. I groaned, not liking the sound of a ride named after a fucking natural disaster. 

This was going to be a long night.

After a series of rides, I begged Serena to let me stop getting on those damn death machines, and go play some of the games. She agreed, but only if I agreed to take her on the ferris wheel before we left.

We were currently walking down the boardwalk looking at the beauty of all the lights in the night sky. I slipped my hand into hers, and intertwined our fingers. She looked down at our hands and looked up at me, smiling. I smiled back at her and leaned in, ready for our lips to meet.

"Oh my gosh, that is the cutest damn thing!" Serena said, breaking the almost-kiss that we were about to have.

I turned around to see what she was talking about, and my eyes landed on a giant ass plush scooby doo, almost as big as Serena. I rolled my eyes, laughing. "Fine, ill get it." I pulled her towards the booth, where a man stood looking nonchalant.

"How much for Scooby Doo ?" I asked,  taking out my wallet. "You have to knock down those six bottles to get it. 5 bucks for three tries." he said.

I shrugged and slapped a five down on the counter. This should be a piece of cake. The guy put three medium sized balls down next to me, and backed out of my way. I cracked my knuckles and picked up the ball. With Serena cheering me on, I took a swing at the bottles, only knocking off the one at the top.

After the man resent the bottles, I threw the second, and only got three bottles down.

I picked up my last ball, and glared at the bottles, picked up the ball, winding up my arms.

I threw the ball with every ounce of strength I had, manging to knock all of the bottles down.

Except for one.

I cursed loudly, and slapped another 5 dollars on the table. 10 dollars turned to 15. 15 turned to 20. Before I knew it, I had spent a whole fucking 30 dollars on this stupid game, and I couldn't even remeber why I was playing it.

Serena stood by, trying to convince me to stop. I threw two more of my balls ignoring her request. As I was about to throw my last one, she snatched it out my hand, and wound up to throw it.

"Serena, these games are meant to get people for their money. you're not gonna-"

And with one try, she knocked all 6 god damn bottles down. The man handed her the Scooby Doo, and she walked away shaking her head.

I caught up to her, slightly annoyed that she was able to win the game, and I wasnt. What kinda guy couldn't even get a freakin plush toy for his girlfriend? I pulled Serena over to another booth, and she rolled her eyes. "Craig, can't we just go on the Ferris Wheel now? Its really noth that big of a deal" I pecked her lips to shut her up. "I'm gonna win something for you, cause that's what boyfriends do. "

The next game we sat at, it was one where you had to aim a water gun at a target long enough to make your little horse cross the finish line first. My only competition was a little girl who looked like she was about 8 years old. She smiled at me showing off her missing two front teeth. Piece of cake.

When the bell rang signaling us to start, I was hitting the target dead on. The girl wasn't even hitting the target, and her horse hadn't moved an inch. My horse crossed the line, and I won. The man handed me a monkey, and I finally felt proud that I was able to win something for Serena. The little girl frowned and looked like she was about to cry. My conscience got the best of me and I handed the girl the monkey.

"Thanks Mister!" She said with a lisp and ran off.

I sighed. Serena tapped me on the shoulder, and I turned around. She put her Scooby Doo in my arms. "Since you gave yours away, you deserve it." she winked. I got her hint, and handed her back the Scooby Doo, pecking her on the lips. She accepted the Scooby Doo, and we both laughed walking off.

"Can we get on the ferris wheel NOW?" Serena asked laughing. I laughed and lead her off to the last ride and activity of the day.

We were on the ferris wheel now, and I looked down, watching as the people still on the ground slowly turned to little bugs crawling around on the boardwalk. I took in all the different lights, thinking about how different they looked at day. I looked at Serena's astonished face as she took  in the beauty of the night as well.

"So im hoping that you're afraid of heights so that you'll scoot closer to me." I said jokingly.  She breathed a laugh. "I'm not afraid of heights, but I'll scoot closer if you want." She said, moving so that our bodies were touching. It was quiet for a few times going  around on the wheel before she spoke up

She sighed. "Everything's so beautiful from up here."She said quietly. I touched her cheek. "Just like you are."

I gently placed my lips on hers, and a feeling ran through me that I couldn't describe. It felt as if shivers ran through me, but when we pulled away, it left me feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside.

She opened her mouth like she was about to say something, then closed it, changing her mind. "What?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me. She sighed. "It was so sweet of you to give the prize to that girl." she said. I rolled my eyes.

"Now you can tell me what you actually meant to say." I said. She took a deep breath.

"I think... that I love you." She said, not meeting my eyes. " I was a little shocked, but I couldn't help but think that I felt the exact same way. The feelings that I felt for Serena were even stronger  than the ones I had for Hana, the girlfriend I cheated on a few years back.

"I love you too." I said to her. Her eyes widened as if she hadn't exlected me to say that, then she crashed her lips onto mine. she wrapped her arms around my neck tightly, sliding herself into my lap. My hands slid under her shirt, feeling on her lower back. I felt her shiver slightly at my touch. She began to grind slightly on me, and moaned in the back of her throat.

"Um excuse me guys..." The guy working the ferris wheel said. I waved him off.

"We're going around again." I said as Serena kissed my neck.
