I was currently holding onto a wall for dear life, hoping that I would not bust my ass. who would've thought that on the last day of our trip we would be at a damn ice rink? Certainly not I. A park, a museum, or even some crappy mini golfing course would be better than ice skating.

Leah glided to me on the ice, looking as if she's done this more times than I could probably count.  "You look like you're having fun." She said sarcastically,  watching as I struggled to get back on my feet. I growled at her. "If I knew that we were coming here, I would've stayed my ass back at the hotel." She laughed my poor attempt to stand without the wall, and skated back in the direction she came from. "Good luck Jacob." she called over her shoulder.

I watched as Leah skated over to Raena and Chres, making it look so damn easy. I looked over to Serena and Craig, who were holding hands,  skating side by side. Ray was skating with Brianna, looking as if he was supporting her. My ice skates slipped from underneath me as I tried to imitate them, and I definitely would have bust my ass if I wasn't still holding on to the wall.

When did Craig, Ray, and Chres learn to skate? Most importantly,  why the fuck wasn't I invited? Sure, I probably would've said no. They would've most likely forced me to go anyway. I certainly wouldn't be looking like a 7 year old girl right now.

Taking a deep breath, I let go of the wall, and started inching myself forward. So far so good. I was barely getting anywhere, but at least I didn't fall, so I used that to propel myself forward. I was keeping up a steady pace, almost to the point of where I would actually look like I were skating. It took everything in me not to yell out 'I'm doing it, I'm doing it!' otherwise,  I really would look like a 7 year girl. But of course,  as soon as I start picking up a steady rhythm,  I do what I've been trying not to do all day.

I fall on my ass.

I look up to see Nicole approaching me, and she held out her hand for me to take it. Her face had a gentle smile plastered on it, and it didn't even look like she was going to laugh at me. I reluctantly took her hand, and she helped me to my feet.

"I can help you skate if you want." she offered, her tone no where near condescending. I agreed, and she entertwined our fingers, and led me onwards.

"Dont think of skating as walking on ice. Think of it as sliding on your socks in your living room." She said looking at me to make sure I understood. I nodded and let out a chuckle, and she continued. "Everytime you move your foot towards the ice, anticipate falling, and work against it." We stopped, and she stood infront of me to demonstrate. "The most important thing is finding your center and keeping your balance." She skated up a little in front of me, then returned to my side. "Just imagine a string holding you from the top of your head, down to your toes." I tried to do as she said, but I could barely even move forward. I groaned in frustration.

"Just remember that when you move, you should feel free. I know that's kinda of contradictory to what I said earlier, but it works." She said. She skated some more, and I watched as her feet moved, and copied her exact movements.  I began to move forward,  and I was keeping my balance! I was getting a little more excited then I should've been, so I calmed myself down.

Nicki started to skate even faster, and did a few kicks, turns, and jumps, seeming to forget that she was supposed to be teaching me how to skate. When she made her way back to my side I raised an eyebrow at her, impressed at the show she just put on.

I gave her a round of applause,  and she did a little courtesy laughing. "Where did you learn to skate like that?" I asked."I've actually never skated before today. I'm just a fast learner. " She replied shrugging. She's never done this before and she skated like a damn competitive figure skater? Okay, so I may have been exaggerating, but for a girl who never skated before,  she was really good. She's must've noticed the confused expression on my face because she continued talking.
