Nicki, Leah and I were in a dress shop searching up and down for anything that caught our eye. Homecoming was right around the corner, and I thought that it would be a good idea to go dress shopping. Plus it was an excuse to skip English, so this was a win-win situation.

Leah held up a pink dress to Nicki. "You have to try this on." She declared handing it to her. She didn't put up a fight and just held it with the other ones that she picked out.

Nicki hadn't been herself since her grandmother died a month ago. Dress shopping was also my attempt on trying to get her back on her feet, but her mood hadn't changed since we got here.

"So who are you going to homecoming with Leah?" I asked cautiously. I tried my best not to bring up Chres around her because even though she didn't show it, she was still upset about their break up.

"Kendall." She replied without looking me in the eye. I stopped searching through the racks of dresses and stared at Leah.

"Really? You're going with that douche bag?" I asked in disbelief.  This seemed to also get Nicki's attention and she also looked at Leah expectantly.

"Yeah, I thought that I'd give him another chance." stated, still not meeting our eyes.

"But he's a douche!" I said a little too loudly, attracting the attention of some of the other people in the store.

Leah shrugged, but didn't say anything else. "So you'll give him a second chance, but you won't give Chres a second chance?" I noticed Leah wince at my usage of Chres's name, but she still tried to act nonchalant.

"He made his feelings for me very clear. He doesn't even want a second chance." she finalized. "Lets go try on our dresses."

Leah walked off to the dressing rooms, and Nicki and I followed suit. We all had at least three dresses with us as we went into our individual dressing rooms. I tried on my first dress, which was blue and green.  When I came outside,  Leah and Nicki were already standing in front of the big mirrors. Leah's dress was yellow, and Nick's was light blue.  We looked each other up and down.

"Nah." We said in unison then retreated black to our dressing rooms. The next time we came out, Leah was wearing a gorgeous cream colored dress that looked perfect on her. She decided that she would get it, but Nicki and I still had to find our dresses.

Nicki found her dress next, and of course it was pink. I was the only one who hadn't found a dress yet.

I retreated back to my dressing room after yet another rejected dress. As I was trying to take it off the zipper got stuck."Leah! Get in here, my zipper is stuck!" I yelled.

"Don't get your panties in a twist." she grumbled as she squeezed her way into the tiny room.

Once she was able to get my zipper down she turned to walk out the, but stopped dead in her tracks when something caught her eye in the mirror. I followed her gaze and realized that she was staring at my hip.

Oh Shit.

"When did you get a tattoo??" She asked me incredulously. I smiled sheepishly at her.

"Well, when Craig and I couldn't make it to Nicki's party we decided to have a party of our own. " I admitted.

"So you go and get your boyfriend's name tattooed on your hip?" She asked in complete disbelief.

"Well I don't actually remember getting it. Craig and I got drunk, so the night is pretty blurry. But Craig got one too. It's on his chest."

Leah just stared at me then all of a sudden she ran out the dressing room hollering Nicki's name. When Nicki saw the tattoo, she didn't seem all that surprised.
