We ran after the car as fast as we could. But before we could catch up, it disappeared into the darkness. But we didn't stop, nothing could make us. But we soon came to a fork in the road, not knowing which way to go.

"What do we do know?" I asked him. "We need to think of a plan." He said grabbing my arm and leading me to the forest.

We walked side by side through the dense trees, but I had know idea where we were going.

Soon we came across an old run-down house. What was a house doing in the middle of the forest? He pushed open the door and told me follow him.

The inside of the house was beaten up as well. Missing stairs, creaking walls, and uneven floorboards. But something caught my eye, and it wasn't the cockroach coming out of a hole in the wall.

It was a picture pinned to the wall. I walked over to it, and examined it. It was Jeff and his mom, dad, and- Colby? Oh my gosh, Jeff was right! Liu and Colby are mirror images of each other!

"Is this your family?" I asked him, although I already knew the answer. He got a hurt expression on his face, but it disappeared a second later. "Yes." He said looking at his feet.

"Oh, um, I'm sorry. I didn't mean too..." My voice trailed off and I fiddled with a fluff bunny on my shirt. "No, it's fine." He said with a sigh. There was an awkward silence, and I said: "so um, where do I stay?" "Go upstairs and to the left." He told me. I obeyed and started climbing the stairs. I jumped over the spaces where the stairs should be. When I got to the top, I pushed open a door to the left. The room was a bit destroyed, but I didn't care. I flopped down on the bed and fell asleep as soon I hit the pillow.

Hours later, I was woken by someone shaking me awake. It was Jeff, and he looked absolutely terrified. "Wh-what?" I asked rubbing sleep from my eyes. "We need to get out. Now." He said.

"What's going on?" I asked as panic rose in my voice. He didn't respond, he just grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the window across the room. I looked down through the window and felt sick to my stomach. It was at least 20 feet down. "Are you crazy?" I asked in a whisper. "There's an emergency ladder on the side of the house, just use that. But whatever you do, don't. Look. Down." He said back. I nodded back and turned toward the window, only to whip my head back around to face him. "But, you have to tell me what's going on first." He looked at me with annoyance, but told me anyway. "There's someone else in the house. Actually, more like something." He said shoving me toward the window. I dug my heels into the floor, scared for my life. "Wait." I said. He face palmed himself. "I want you to go down first. So I know it's safe." He sighed with frustration and pushed the window open.

He jumped out and disappeared from sight. I gasped and looked over the window sill. He was hanging onto the ladder and climbing down as if nothing had happened. I rolled my eyes, knowing he did it on purpose. I still hadn't gotten the courage to go down the ladder, and he was already at the bottom. He looked up at me and mouthed: "come on." Before I did, I heard something bounding up the stairs. He heard it too, because his eyes widened with fear.

I heard the noise stop, only for it to continue to get louder and louder. I swung my legs over the window will and started to climb down. Only to be yanked back through the window. I screamed and fell to the hard wood floor on my face. I pushed my self off of the floor, only to be thrown across the room. I hit the wall with a thud. I opened my eyes slowly and saw a horrifying sight.

The thing that attacked me, was the Rake. I screamed, and no noise went with it.

But before it could throw me like rag doll again, I picked up a rock and threw it at him. It hit him square in the face and he howled with pain. (I have no idea why there was a rock in their, but it saved my life). I bolted for the window and saw Jeff holding his arms out. "Just jump!" He yelled at me from below. The creature was regaining its balance, I had to move fast. It came after me, and I jumped out the window. I was scared to death. I wasn't thinking about escaping, I was thinking of the ground rushing to meet me,
